Oh yeah softball, plenty of memories from that here too! I had one similar to yours a couple of years ago, but I was in the batting cage. And of course I wasn't wearing a helmet, although it might not have mattered anyway. I was using the slow-pitch cage, and then for fun to reminisce of my high school days I moved over to the 60mph (~100km/h) cage. Everything was going peachy until one that I hit too close to the (first base) line. Keep in mind a bat left-handed. It hit the pole that was separating the cages, and bounced right back at my face. Since I was following through in my swing, it actually hit me on my left temple/eye socket. :stunned: I had an awful black eye, and had to explain myself at work several times the next day... * really, I promise, my husband doesn't beat me *.

So for those of you who have mentioned childbirth: does that mean you didn't have an epidural?
