  1. Palmer's Lodge Hostel is pretty inexpensive. It's in a great neighborhood, and it's a 15-minute walk from you-know-what.
  2. When I went down to the cafeteria for lunch, I overheard the lunchman singing VLV; I certainly never expected to hear that from him! But in a wtf moment, somebody asked him if he was singing an Eric Clapton song. :wtf:
  3. That's the HIGHEST bid. The lowest winning bid is likely much lower than that, but because of the way the auction is set up we have no idea what that lowest figure is.
  4. dude, if you guys get the first preview of LP5 material as your "surprise", that would be :dead:
  5. I concur; I was in London on July 4th so I know what you mean! Good luck! And whoever goes... TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES!!! And report back here with your stories, of course.
  6. Surprisingly I'm not nervous/freaking out yet. :| But to "patiently" wait 2 hours to find out if you won a ticket? wtf - AGONY. With eBay it's within a 2 seconds.
  7. Okay, so I FINALLY sent my pics today after having them tucked away in my drawer for months. I had lots of pictures, but I only sent a few (maybe I can start my own project with the ones I kept ). Here's what I sent: front back For some reason it was hard to take a good picture of this one, but: front back The writing says: This is me. I'm just like I always was. Send us some pictures. Paul said you sure had got to have a keen looking girl. - Julietta :nice:
  8. Never watched Glee before, but I watched it tonight. I was entertained. Gwyn did a good job.
  9. takes me away...
  10. everyone here should just log onto eBay and offer a him bid of 50 quid apiece to be irritating; there has already been 3 (denied) offers
  11. ireekofawesumnes (smooth, huh)
  12. Yes indeed. Assuming we are referring to the same person, I actually already sent him some questions on eBay and received his responses, just so I can understand his "plan". I still don't see how it would work. Incidentally he became a member here the other day. Something tells me he won't actually post in any of these threads, because people would rip him into shreds. (hey, that rhymed ) http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showpost.php?p=4534013&postcount=323 http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showpost.php?p=4534123&postcount=330 http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showpost.php?p=4536581&postcount=368
  13. Happy Birthday to the HMFIC! :awesome:
  14. Possibly yes, but at the same time there are people who want to go with a guest. So therein lies the problem of one person getting a ticket in a "lottery", and the other person not. Some people are comfortable traveling to a foreign country that they have never visited by themselves, but other people are not. No matter what the process is for distributing tickets, people will think it's "unfair" in some way. But the important thing here is... it's for CHARITY. The more money to the charity, the better. Sure, the 50 quid allocation will invariably be abused by money-grubbers, but I don't think people can really complain about the price of the auction tickets. EDIT: Although I will say there is one legitimate complaint about the auction, and it's in regard to the seeticket site. I have NEVER seen an auction where the HIGHEST MAXIMUM bids are listed. It's always the LOWEST winning bid. I admit that's rather lame.
  15. :surprised: Ooh, thank you for the link! I think I'll have to forward that to someone I know who wants to start collecting.
  16. I'm sorry, I forgot to post this the other day when I received the message. After Anchorman responded to my question about ID requirements for ticket entry, etc., I sent him a quick thank you for taking the time to respond and hoped they have an awesome time. He sent a very kind response back, and this is for all you folks: :nice: how sweet
  17. First I didn't see it, then I realized I had to go onto UK eBay. I'm not going to bid on it, but for you experts out there, does it look authentic to you? Someone I know may want to bid on it.
  18. Hello and welcome! :nice:
  19. Not sure if this would change people's opinions, but remember it was £700 total, so that's £350 per ticket. Better than the ireekofawesumnes dude that is trying to sell them for about £1900 total (£950 per ticket). And he isn't even based in Liverpool, I think he's in the U.S., and isn't going to meet the buyer there, etc.
  20. I'm confused; if you already won them, how do you get to decide by tomorrow? Did the guy give you some sort of "grace period"? Memory/show of a lifetime. Fo sho. I defer to the following article/study: http://articles.cnn.com/2009-02-10/health/happiness.possessions_1_leaf-van-boven-experiences-psychological-research?_s=PM:HEALTH
