  1. Phase 3: Globe "All Lit Up" . . Okay, this is the one everybody's been asking for... "Parachutes 2010" . . Not even going to bother with a spoiler button this time . . . .
  2. Well, I already did steps 1 - 5, for the most part. Really I just needed the instructions in 6. Is there any type of software I can download for this?
  3. . . Phase 3: Globe "All Lit Up" The atrocious concoction of plug, adapter, and voltage converter :freak: Before (unlit) After With Albums - reverse With Albums - front All Globe-y . . In the "With Albums - front" picture, you can easily notice the dent / torn portion of the globe in the Pacific Ocean. I assumed that happened during all of the travels on the Parachutes tour. But upon inspection of the album cover, it looks like it's been there all along! You can see a light "line" in the Pacific on the cover (since the tear forms a line when spinning). HOW COOL IS THAT!?! :awesome: I took TONS more pics, but couldn't choose which ones to post. If there's a certain side of the globe you want, just let me know and I probably already took it. Actually, it would be cool to make a stop-motion siggy... if anyone can send me the instructions on how to do that, I would be much appreciative! Oh yeah, there actually is at least ONE MORE pic that I want to post, a few of you have been asking for it. But it's after midnight right now and, um, I'm pretty tired. :sleeping2: So, it's going to have to wait a little while longer until I get some sleep... I know, I'm evil.
  4. So, are you saying I should wait another week to post the "all lit up" pictures? :sneaky:
  5. Those DC pics are awesome!
  6. This is rediculous. How long has this stadium been around? I mean, if the people around there are that concerned about noise, why the f*** would they move next to it. Seriously. It's a stadium... stadiums host events, including concerts. Helllooooooooooo. It's time to bring out the flesh-feasting dogs...
  7. ^ Ooo, those pics are so pretty ivet! I love it when the snow sticks to the trees like that.
  8. So... do you get to be off on a "snow day" or two? :awesome:
  9. I'm not really sure if it qualifies as "my" Coldplay, but I've started to post lots of globe pics in the "End of Decade Clearout Sale" thread, if anyone is interested. I'm still in disbelief. :dead:
  10. Wow... that would SSUUUUUUUUUUCCCKKK! Does anyone live near here and have more detail about this? Is it really that bad? I suppose there are comments here above, but I only had one year of spanish class (and that was several years ago) so I don't know what all this above me says. (I can read and pronounce everything very well, I just don't comprehend most of it.)
  11. Okay, I just had a kicking-myself-in-the-arse moment this weekend. I went through some old cd cases that contained a bunch of cds that I don't listen to anymore. And what do I find in there? THE LIVE 2003 DVD. WTF??!!?? How could I forget that I had that?!? :bomb: I think when I first got the set, I just put the DVD aside because I didn't have a DVD player when I was in my apartment, and I knew my boyfriend at the time (now husband) wouldn't sit through watching it at his place. So, it has been sitting in the case ever since. After what you wrote here, I will definitely have to set aside some time to watch this in detail... I'm still kicking myself.
  12. Phase 2: Globe - Unlit With Album - view 1 With Album - view 2 Plug ("globe" was written on tape) Scratches and Dents - view 1 Scratches and Dents - view 2 Scratches and Dents - view 3 Something is written under the tape, but I don't know what! It kind of looks like Chris' writing. I want to know what it says, but I don't want to peel off the tape... so it will have to remain a mystery. :bomb: Some random views... Pictures of the globe all lit up to follow sometime later...
  13. Good idea Rick/Apparadude! :sneaky: Well, I will post phase 2 shortly. Phase 3 will have to wait for at least another day.
  14. Globe picspam commences... I decided to post pics in phases. First phase being the awesome drum case that was used to transport it during the Parachutes tour, second phase will be pics of the unlit globe, third phase will be the globe "all lit up". :D I'm trying to fit this in amongst my other daily activities, so I'm not sure when I'll take pictures and post the second and third phase, please forgive me. . . 16. Good news, this morning I bought both an adapter and a voltage converter, plugged the globe into the adapter, into the converter, and then into outlet, crossed my fingers and winced and then flipped the switch and... Yay! It lights up wonderfully. Thanks to everyone who provided advice, especially Space Cadet (and Space Cadet's teacher ;)). I will take lots of pics tomorrow (I would take them today, but if I took all those pics while my hubby's here he'll think I'm insane). So, if any of you have any special requests, let me know. :D Something tells me I will get carried away and there will be an atrocious amount of picspam in this thread later on Sunday.
  17. I agree with what you're saying except for one little adjustment... Nuts announced the poll in December, so the little 'membership' rule I proposed would mean someone would need to be a member during or before NOVEMBER, not December. So, if you take out the December 2009 people from the 77 people you noted above, then I agree with you that "net" list would be the "problem" people potentially skewing the results (in addition to the December 2009 and January 2010 people, of course). Basically, the half-arse fans.
  18. Go to the second link in post 127 above, the list is posted using all of the info, and each one has a notation of how that song ranked in the "veterans" list.
  19. I agree. It's so... predictable for the casual listener, not for veterans. Good song but boring choice for #1.
  20. No, see that's the point... as long as they've had the account prior to him even making the announcement, that's what matters. The problem, as you and many of us here have mentioned, is that there were people that only came here to post lists. If people are already members on this site BEFORE the request for lists is even announced, then they were here for other reasons prior to the poll, regardless of how many posts they've had. Sure, it's not hard to get 500 posts if you go to the post whore section and count up to 1000 in less than an hour, so who's to say someone won't do that just to meet the criteria? The point is, people who find out the poll as members here, as opposed to finding out about the poll elsewhere, should be the ones to vote. And you (typically) find out about the poll here if you're already a member here before the announcement, yadda yadda...
  21. Aw crap, I just slipped and fell in my own puddle of drool.
