What's the weather like today in your town?
We do something similar here, except it's "softball on ice". Last year was the first time I played in the tournament. At first I was a little freaked out about the ice breaking, but people go ice fishing and snowmobiling on it all the time, so that made me feel better. Plus with the temperatures being about -15 celsius, the ice was pretty thick. Of course, after being outside for about 8 hours total, you soon realize what it means to be "chilled to the bone". Unfortunately, half of our team will be out of town this year, so we won't be able to play this time. But I might go anyway just to watch the other teams (if I do, I'll post pics)... http://thecountypress.mihomepaper.com/news/2010-01-03/Sports/Batter_up_for_sixth_annual_softball_on_ice.html

Coldplaying Christmas 2009: Secret Santa - Post a pic if you already received a card :D
The registration took a little longer than usual, because I kind of had to "trick" it into displaying my address properly. Even though the registration allows for any country to purchase, the address fields are only geared toward the format of British/U.K. addresses. Instead of putting my house number on the street field, I had to put it in the property number field. And since there was no place to put which State I was in, I had to put it in the same field as my city. Plus I had to adjust the format of my phone number. But I eventually got through okay. There was also a step at the end where they had to verify my credit card (Verified By Visa), but since I had done that previously on another site, I already had that info set up. So, you might have to do a little trial-and-error to get things to display properly, but you can get through okay. ;)

If this doesn't work for some reason, you can just go to the story on coldplay.com and there's some info there. http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/shop;jsessionid=NPBRFJMHYGR32FB2IGDEOSQUHRAYUQ2K?catId=9300091&pageType=Others&pageId=shp_prddetails&product=prod86670020&parentCategoryId=cat86150006&categoryId=cat86160009

^ that to the infinity I can't even drag him to a concert. But he doesn't want me to go by myself, so I have to hunt for someone who is willing to go with me.

Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
Sell it and have all the proceeds go to Kids Company again. I think a KidsCo rep mentioned that they still need to raise another 8 million...

Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
Maybe the Oracle meant to say, "Before you get excited that does not mean there's NOT going to be a DVD!" ? Maybe she just forgot to add the other "not"?

Just started to snow... I think we're only supposed to get about 4 inches, so it won't be bad.

^ I think you can find them online, but they aren't all the same. Some are relatively generic and just tell you what type of field you would do best, whereas others get very specific with a list of careers. When I went to my university, I thought I knew "what I wanted to be when I grow up". I was thinking along the lines of forensic pathologist. (I know, eeeeewww.) When taking the "placement" tests to see which classes to start me at (for math, chemistry, literature, etc.), I was VERY upset with the results of the math placement. I had taken Calcululs I, II and III in high school; but, the highest math they tested on the placement exam was Trig. I was ticked. The last time I had Trig was 4 years before that, so I didn't remember much of it. And since there was no calculus on it, I had no way of "proving" to them that I already knew how to do it. Needless to say, they basically placed me in a pre-calculus class, and there was no way for me to get around it. After realizing that I didn't really want to be a forensic pathologist, I left my major as "undecided" for 2 years. Then, I finally went to the Career Center at the university, and they offered me a Strong Interest Inventory Test. It was one of the best things I've ever done. You have to be honest when taking it though, otherwise it won't work. Don't answer the questions the way you think other people would want you to answer them, just answer them truthfully. As it turns out, the best career for me was something that the university already had as a degree... actuary (Actuarial Mathematics). So even though I was frustrated with where they originally placed me in math classes, the point is I really do love math, so I went though the program. I got hired at an actuarial firm during my last semester at the university, and I've worked there ever since (over 7 years). I love what I do. SO, long story short... it can't hurt to take one of those tests. If you do, just make sure it's one of the more specific/detailed ones. Good luck in your quest!

Yes Afeather, I just received an e-mail a little while ago that they received the transfer, and they will give me a tracking number once it has shipped. Yay! :awesome:  If anybody is thinking about a little trip south, it would just be me becuase 1) my husband gags at Coldplay and 2) he doesn't have a passport. Which is kind of nice, because if he ever does something to really tick me off, I could just take a trip to a foreign country on a whim and he couldn't follow me. :D Of course, that probably wouldn't ever happen anyway, because I'm a very laid back person so it would take a lot to tick me off that much.

Hot vs Cold!
When you're too cold, you can keep adding layers of clothing. When you're too hot, you can only take off so much, you're a bit limited. When you're too cold, it is a good reason to get close to someone to stay warm. When you're too hot, you're like "get the f*** away from me". So... COLD. Definitely.

Well, I haven't heard back from them today like they said they would to let me know the money is in their account, and it's already about 8pm their time. Hopefully they'll let me know tomorrow. That's a lot of money to be stuck in bank-wire-transfer limbo...

^ I know RedGirl76, I was thinking that too. Quite frankly I think they might have to retire LIJ from live performances after the Latin America tour. Seriously, becuase it just wouldn't be the same, there would be this expectation from the crowd and then the crowd would be thinking, "oh, bummer, no pretty confetti". Maybe in future tours they'll do a revamped version of LIJ, kind of like they did with God Put a Smile.../Talk during the Viva tour. And back to the topic at hand... no card yet.
