When I first heard the studio version of Major Minus I was like "what the fuuuu..." and although I do agree that they shouldn't have changed it the way they did I barely notice the voice filter anymore...but the guitar part is still weird... Do you guys think the Mylo Xyloto era will be better or worse than the Viva era? Because as far as I can tell it seems better. It appears to actually have intimate moments and I'm loving Charlie Brown and Hurts Like HEaven

Who cares if any of these songs leak? If Charlie Brown leaked I'd surely get it, I already have a live version so what's the difference?

Life is for Living isn't on the CD's tracklist though, so it's hidden. Amsterdam is just there.

Your point was that it was ironic that he was saying that Jay Z and Kanye wouldn't sell out Coldplay and he explained that he meant that he thought Jay Z and Kanye might not out sell Coldplay's 5th album as opposed to the fact that they out sell Viva. You missed his point, I corrected you. That's it. Summary: He said something ironic. Then he retracted that to say something normal. Yup.

Haha yes it makes sense. I'm trying to not judge the album title until I know what it means. And I agree that MTM and ETIAW aren't anything special, but I do think that MM is quite good as well as Charlie Brown and HLH. Are you guys not impressed by Us Against The World, because I would call that the song that's raw emotion.

I'd want a single, I just wouldn't want the single to be on the album. Just sort of like "hey, this is what our album will sound like"...

And Fix42YellowClocks meant that MX would sell more than Watch the Throne.

I think Chris' songwriting has been pretty good consistently. The only time I've ever been dissappointed in his lyrics was with Every Teardrop. I just want that one song that's amazing lyrically on this album. On AROBTTH I think that was Amsterdam, on Viva it was Viva. And I'm not quite as excited as I'd thought I'd be because we've already heard a huge portion of the album.

Would love to help but I was only in Chicago for Thursday night, Friday, and left Saturday morning. I didn't do anything Saturday, Friday was Lolla, and Thursday we just went to Giordano's which supposedly has a great deep dish which I didn't try, but everything else was delicious! So I guess I'm just saying go to Giordano's and try to see Coldplay because that was the best thing I did in Chicago. Good luck with that second part though... Edit: Ha! See, Macky just said that Giordano's has a better deep dish! I guess I am pretty helpful after all :D

I can completely understand that. But Jonny said something in the Billboard article recently that made me really excited. He talked about having those moments on the album when you can hear the guitar strings being plucked and the piano pedal being pressed and that they were making an album half based on an electric feel and half on an acoustic feel which really excites me. It sounds like a mixture of Viva and, well pre-viva. The problem with Viva was that there was no sad songs. Just a mix of happy and angry. I'm hoping that Us Against The World was the song that tells us the most about the allbum even though most of the songs we've heard seem to be more on the electric side.

No I do, but not much. I've tried, just not much interests me besides Coldplay, I don't know what it is about their music....

Haha, don't worry about it. For a while this became the best thread ever. You think the new songs are good, but you're unhappy because they aren't what you expected? What exactly did you expect? I had no idea what to expect so I really don't think these songs soung unlike Coldplay at all. When I think about these songs musically, all gimmicks aside, I feel like this is just classic Coldplay (besides ETIAW, which I think is good and have been liking a LOT more since seeing live).

:laugh3: Haha, well it's not hip hop that I dislike, it's music with no meaning. I really dont care for much music, just Coldplay. And I know that sounds so stupid and fan boyish, but I really didnt listen to any music because I thought it was boring. Then I just listened to hip hop because that's what's considered "cool". Then I saw Lost+ on YouTube and clicked on it for Jay Z but ended up finding a love for Coldplay. So, I don't like music. I like Coldplay. That sounds insulting but it's not. So I DO love Jay-Z, for helping me find Coldplay. He also helped me discover pancakes, but that's a story for another day...

Agreed. I love those songs but a perfect album to me wouldn't have CB HLH PoC UATW ETIAW or Major Minus. Or Paradise I guess.
