  1. The stream is so good you can actually hear Guy's plectrum scraping the strings on his bass during Yellow.
  2. Anyone recording the radio broadcast?
  3. Okay, so out of the green and yellow zones, which is which?
  4. Will anyone be recording the broadcast?
  5. Hi guys. So, I've just received my tickets thinking that they were for unreserved level 1 seating only. However, judging from the ticket it looks like L1 includes a certain section of the pitch (I hope). Can anyone confirm this? And if so, when would be an appropriate time to start queuing?
  6. When I first saw your post I thought I might provide a brief explanation as to how they incorporate playback into their performances, not least because I'm quite outspoken on listing the pros and cons of using them as liberally as the band does. However, since there are already several such threads on the subject, I thought it would be better to refer you to this useful article (written by an experienced metal musician) on the ways in which playback is commonly used by bands: http://blog.creativelive.com/backing-tracks-history-use/ As the writer states, "good backing tracks should be like a great special effect in a movie; the best ones are the ones you don’t even notice". I couldn't agree more, really. (In case you're wondering, Coldplay fall into category 3, for the most part).
  7. I've always wondered why they set the stage up landscape wise at HP, rather than end to end.
  8. Yet more playing it safe, you could say.
  9. Pretty sure when people are requesting the classics they're wanting / expecting the real deal.
  10. Well. It took them the best part of 15 years to throw together a 2 hour set, but they got there in the end!
  11. Stage invader? EDIT: "Steve from YTS" :happy2: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Youth_Training_Scheme Chris, telling a good joke (for once).
  12. So Jonny is actually strumming, and not miming during *that* part, after all..
  13. As far as faux pas go, I think this tour's already surpassed everything that's come before :lock:
  14. They're currently only busking their best songs at the mo, so I doubt they'll change course for a while.
  15. Finally, the classics :batman:
  16. Obama singing AG, always gives me the creeps. "I have a drone". No thanks. Have a bit of Cornel West instead.
  17. Don't get me wrong, I've really enjoyed tonight's show, but this obsession with playback really baffles me. Heroes isn't even an album/studio original (composition wise) yet they've got all sorts of things in the mix that aren't being played live. Wouldn't it sound just as good without all the fanfare?
  18. A lot of that going on lately, I've noticed...
  19. "We've never tried this before" why does Chris tell so many fibs...
  20. Was wondering if they were going to do a tribute to MA.
  21. As much as I love Birds (and this performance), I think it's quite obvious it's not the greatest stadium track.
