  1. Today it's the same temperature here as Christmas 2011 (about 10 degrees Celsius). :|
  2. The Sun liked it too: Coldplay light up the Gunners Red hot ... Coldplay By BECI WOOD Published: 15 minutes ago COLDPLAY turned in a stunning performance at Arsenal last night. Frontman Chris Martin was the stand-out 'man of the match' as the band played a 90-minute set crammed full of old and new material. Stepping on stage at dusk, the arena quickly turned into a pool of lights as the fans waved their light-up wristbands around in a frenzy. Flashing in time with the music, it was an idea so simple, but yet so effective. More colour filled the Emirates, home of Arsene Wenger's Gunners, as confetti fell onto the stage. Even without the special effects, Chris' brilliant voice, combined with his overwhelming energy and tight bond with his bandmates places Coldplay at the top of the Premier League of live acts around. The sweaty singer puts a load of effort in, but the results are quite spectacular. Giving it his all ... frontman Chris Martin Chris' every move was worshipped by the sell-out crowd as he danced around the stage. At one point he was so knackered he fell to the floor and could barely get up. For the encore, Chris and his bandmates swapped ends for an acoustic number. Chris, husband of Hollywood actress Gywneth Paltrow, said: "We couldn't come to Arsenal and not play both ends." Just when we thought they were ready to call it a night, the band returned to the main stage for an epic finale in the rain. A tender performance of Singing In The Rain, was merged with beautiful track Fix You. And Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall then ensured punters danced away into the night. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/4352285/Coldplay-light-up-London-with-epic-gig-at-Arsenal-football-club.html
  3. Sounds to me like they're doing the best concerts of their lives right now. Every single one has been getting unbelievable reviews from fans & critics. We'd better enjoy this era because in terms of live shows, I can't imagine them getting better to be honest... :awesome: And the pictures lately have been superb! Thanks everyone for posting.
  4. Before more negativity kicks in in this thread: Watched it again and I still like it. Maybe it's because I couldn't give a shit. I know they're great as a band and that's what I love them for, their videos are not going to change that. I gave up getting angry with them for being 'commercial' about a year ago. This was always going to be a Rihanna video and I think it's pretty effing good for a Rihanna video. :escaping:
  5. Hurrah, time for a review... :wink3: Uhm, I like it! Better than expected. It's definitely different and kind of dark, which is good. I like the effects looking purposely fake. (Someone mentioned Kill Bill - you can't compare the two but I get where they're comping from.) The ass flash isn't necessary but I don't mind it, it's Rihanna being Rihanna. Her and Chris both look great and have pretty good chemistry on screen. It's creative and fits the song well without being too predictable. (Edit: I must admit I had extremely low expectations, so 'better than expected' doesn't mean that much.) The song still sucks though. :P :laugh3: This!
  6. Blue Nails replied to Pris's topic in Coldplay
Wasn't it a while ago someone on Twitter suggested 'xylobrytes' as a name for Coldplay fans, and then Phil said he liked it? Edit: sorry, Céline said that already. Should have read the previous pages first. So is that what we are now, xylobrytes? What the hell is a xylobryte. I'm not going to call myself a xylobryte! :P
  7. Blue Nails replied to Pris's topic in Coldplay
The Xylobrytes tweet... Back in excitement mode. :wink3: I should stop fangirling. I'm not the fangirl type. :| Yeah right.
  8. I'm leaving guys, have fun tonight.
  9. ^That sucks. I can't stand mean people and your boss sounds mean. She sounds like a wannabe Anna Wintour. :snobby: Good luck
  10. Politik Live 2003 chillzzz down mah spinezzz :dazzled:
  11. Hi everyone, joining the listening party for a bit. Won't be able to hear the concert itself I'm afraid, but it's still exciting! So Chris is writing on an iPad again? :P Bummed if he can't do any interview today. :bigcry: I hope he feels OK tonight.
  12. I think this 'acoustic' version is also very 'produced'. The vocals are exactly the same as the album version. I sort of like it though.
  13. Wooo are they filming tonight? Awesome. Have fun everyone!
  14. Wow this thread is dead, compared to Twitter where there's lots of talking about how good it was. :( The Telegraph wrote a 5 star review. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/live-music-reviews/9297766/Coldplay-Coventry-Ricoh-Stadium-review.html
  15. Missed it. :| So there's something exciting coming up? Hmmm...
  16. :awesome: Well Thursday 31st sure is around 'the end of May'...
  17. Not sure if anyone posted this already but Zane Lowe tweeted his show tonight will feature an interview with Chris. 7pm, BBC Radio 1. Link Edit: listen here
  18. Hi girls, missed the last few pages but I just wanted to say I love the black MX jacket. Much better than the blue/grey one. And this: :shocked3: Have a nice Sunday everyone. :daisy:
