In one of the replies of the oracle today: ''He has recently been recording with 2 new HD-28's (H= herringbone, which is a style of binding they previously used on pre-war made D-28's) that have been modified, and a couple of specially made 12 string versions of D-15 M's." http://coldplay.com/oracledetail_pop.php?id=3860 Is this a hint that they've actually began recording some things?:) Or am I getting over-excited?

Bands who support Coldplay often have a bright future in store for them (Snow Patrol, Emily Sande) So I think it's wouldn't be that bad for them actually:) And most bands start off wby touring with bigger bands(in their same genre) so they can reach a new and bigger audience. I agree that maybe whe shouldn't label them that much as ''The Next Coldplay'' But it definitely isn't a bad thing and I don't think they would really mind. It's a very big compliment and gives them a lot of hope for the future:)

This was my exact same thought when I was watching this with my dad. I said: They're great but they stole one thing, that lamp! Only Chris may do that!:P(But I'll forgive them for making such good music:))

I made this thread cos I want to spread the love for Kodaline. It's such an awesome new band and their first Album is due in March. They've often been compared with Coldplay. I think they're really worth a listen!:) For Kodaline, music isn’t just music. “It’s therapy,” says singer Steve Garrigan. Teaching each other the principles of songcraft, the music they came up with – some of which can be found on their self titled EP (released in Ireland on Friday 7th September) – isn’t wan or introspective or self-serving. Instead, it’s bold, epic and stirring. Currently maintaining an air of understated mystery (their Facebook bio used to state, merely, “we’re four lads in a band”, Kodaline are soon set to unveil themselves to the world with these first four tracks recorded with Steve Harris (producer for Dave Matthews band, mixer for U2). Currently planning another EP, live dates and – further down the line – a debut album, Kodaline are now they’re hoping their music will provide therapy for others too. “Music should have a purpose, you know,” says Steve, “Our purpose is honesty”.
