  1. Good analogy. But I can't help but focus on one little part.. Living in the northern hemisphere, jet skis are close to the bottom of the list of priorities on the 10th of December.
  2. Not sure if anyone has posted this, so shoot me if it has been.. Wiki states that the Japanese Bonus Tracks are 3 live recordings from Glastonbury. Is there any credibility to this (confirmed or no?) or just another Coldplay fan bored out of their mind bent on deception?
  3. Way ahead of you. I have a PS3. I've had the damn thing for almost 5 years now (the old fat 60gb initial roll out PS3) and only 5 of my friends have one. Most people have 360s so I caved and finally bought one last year for the sake of playing with more of my friends. P.S. I have Fifa 2011 on PS3.
  4. Edit: After further review, the $20.99 listing is simply the vinyl. So, we're back to square one.
  5. Not sure what this entails, but there are two different listings for MX at Best Buy. One is set for release on "10/24/2011" which surely is a listing error because we get new media typically on Tuesdays and we already know we get it on 10/25. The other is listed for release "11/1/2011" with a $20.99 price tag. So, I'm not sure what can be inferred from that but there are two different listings so...there ya go.
  6. I thoroughly enjoyed this read.
  7. You have a valid point about CB being just as pop as the others. The difference is that people tend to appreciate musicianship over the synthetic/electronic addons.
  8. It's like a reversal of roles from the Paradise debacle that's taken over this forum this week. I really like Up In Flames. I do not like Paradise and ETIAW. I like everything else.
  9. Pretty good... Up In Flames is already up on Youtube. Decent quality considering. http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=88541
  10. I would go, of course! ...assuming they came to Nashville. I really enjoy most of the new stuff, so I would have no reason not to go outside of location/work schedule etc..
  11. There is a large difference in Viva La Vida and any of the other tracks you mentioned.. If you think that Paradise and ETIAW sound similar to Yellow, In My Place, etc...then I guess you have an argument. But to the rest of us (both the ones who love AND the ones who hate Paradise and ETIAW) there is an obvious distinction from the earlier material. The new stuff is much less alternative and much more pop(referring to ETIAW and Paradise alone). Whether that is good or bad is up to us each to decide.
  12. You have summed up my most accurate feelings I have for Coldplay and "Paradise" at the moment in three sentences! Kudos to you! :)
  13. better yet...how about: chris, jonny, will, & guy. microphone, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, piano, and a drum set. A room. Nothing else. The only extracurricular activities would be layering (one of the above mentioned instruments) and mastering.
  14. Calling Rick Rubin!!!!!!! Now there's a real "fuzzy man" ... :D
  15. Fortunately for me, my Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited has a fancy 'track' button on the steering wheel just behind my left driving hand. I can usually work up the courage to change tracks but sometime when I haven't eaten my Wheaties, I find the button a little difficult to press. I will manage.
  16. You have an excellent point! I, personally, have been quite judgmental of ETIAW and Paradise both on this board and with my friends that like Coldplay, but I've not been a huge fan of their initial single releases in the past anyway. My favorite songs off of each album are typically the last singles released (if released at all). Singles are meant to advertise after all, and they will typically appeal to the Top 40 listeners. They already know their current fans will buy the album. I mean, most of us (if not all) that are on this forum will get our hands on the new album if not for any other reason than because of our love of their previous work.
  17. I definitely hope to hear some of these new ones (DLIBYH, Up in Flames, etc.). R42 did mention them referring to rehearsals the other day. I'm even excited to hear the live interpretation of Paradise. I really don't like the recording (as a whole) at all to be honest but I did dig the sample that just had the first verse (so apparently I do like some of it). So I reserve hope for its live version. Kinda like how I like live MM much better than studio MM.
  18. LOL, I'm having difficulty grasping the "in a positive way" portion of dying. :P
  19. Well, I think it is. I like a lot of their new tracks from the festivals (HLH, CB, MM, UATW) but I've NEVER disliked a Coldplay song as much as I dislike some of these new tracks. Drop the fucking laptop and make a fucking album! That's what I was hoping for. Yes, I have been a Coldplay fan from Parachutes on but that doesn't mean I want the same damn album. There are infinite possibilities of artwork that can be created with four instruments. Apparently these guys disagree or simply don't want to anymore, but that doesn't change my opinion about what good music is and it certainly doesn't change the fact that I think that much of this new stuff is junk compared to their capabilities. Never in my life have I enjoyed a synthy, poppy band but that's what we are getting now. Some love it, some hate it. And I have my own opinion so as for that other poster that told me to "GTFO", you can simply have a nice day, asshole. I will buy this album in October, and I will likely enjoy a good portion of it but I already know it won't make my list of greatest albums of all time.
  20. The music this band makes today is a far stretch from the brand that brought us here to begin with. As fans, each and every person here has the right to be mad (or happy) about new material. The problem we have here is that Coldplay HAVE "alienated" their longer term fans. Coldplay can in fact go in any direction they want and produce whatever they want, that's what's great about Western society, but don't sit there and tell me I'm wrong for frowning on it. The truth is that Coldplay have been slipping for two albums now. They are "evolving' or whatever the fuck that is suppose to mean. They are dragging their feet, and they try and sell this shit to me through the Coldplay messenger and email updates. Their inspiration has slipped. The emotion no longer guides their songwriting. It's unfortunate. EDIT: One other thing..what used to be a strong point of their music, the lyrics, has really become on par with the use of crappy electronic pseudo-instruments. On the bright side for the band, these tracks will get a lot of TOP 40 airplay. (now that I think of it though, I've hardly heard ETIAW on the radio at all)
