The Tracklisting
I reckon they'll include Mylo Xyloto, Hurts Like Heaven, Major Minus, Paradise, Up In Flames, Princess Of China, Us Against The World, Charlie Brown, DLIBYH and ETIAW if it's a 10-track album. All of those ones have a good reason for being on the album as far as I can see. In case of a 13-track album, I'd hazard a guess at A Hopeful Transmission, Tomorrow and Up With The Birds turning up. But seeing as that's judged on the fact that they're just registered songs and nothing else, I'm less sure of it.

Disappointment
I've been a fan since I impulse-bought X&Y, loved it, bought AROBTTH and Parachutes a week later, loved those too! Then along came Viva La Vida, which was undoubtedly the best album of 2008 for me. I think they've got better with each album, personally (Parachutes is my least favourite, Viva my favourite), so I'm expecting great things from this album. Love all the songs I've heard so far (even ETIAW!) so I don't think I will be disappointed :)

Will they majorly change the setlist for the actual tour?
*cough*YELLOW*cough* *cough*IN MY PLACE*cough* :P But no, I get what you mean, things like Viva and CB are likely to go towards the end. I liked CB as an opener (despite only seeing it done like that via YouTube), but MX/HLH was far better in that position. Seeing as MX may actually be a full song instead of just an intro, I'm really curious whether they'll keep MX/HLH as the opener.

Mylo Xyloto duration of the album?
To be fair though, they only had about 9 tracks that were actually full songs haha! The Radiance was about a minute long and Empty Spaces was just 18 seconds, and four others were between 1-2 minutes, if I remember correctly... good album though.

The Tracklisting
1. MX / Hurts Like Heaven 2. Major Minus 3. Up With The Birds 4. Paradise 5. Tomorrow 6. Princess Of China 7. Us Against The World 8. Charlie Brown 9. Streets Are Calling 10. Up In Flames 11. Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall 12. A Hopeful Transmission Although I reckon we'll end up with only 10 or 11 tracks (in which case, I'd remove ETIAW first and then UWTB)... Look at me, acting like I know what I'm talking about

Mylo Xyloto to be available in Europe on October, 21st (maybe to be charted for that weekend!)
Quite a lot of big bands that I like (at least, those based in the UK) announce their release date for a Monday (in this case, 24th October) which tends to be the UK release date, and promote it as being out then, whilst they give other places earlier releases but don't really announce it. I don't know why, but I can think of a few bands who've done this.

"Hurts Like Heaven" Lyrics
Yeah, had a listen to the other songs we haven't heard studio recordings of, there's no backing on Us Against The World (as I expected) and all I got on Charlie Brown is the occasional synth which you can hear listening to it normally; nothing to help us decipher the lyrics I'm afraid... oh well... :D

Coldplay in Rolling Stone: Reviews of New Songs
If they're giving Princess of China 3 stars just from the low quality available on YouTube... then what are they going to give the studio version?!

Recorded instrumental version of Charlie Brown on Sky Sports
The amount of excitement I felt when I heard just that tiny little clip just in the background was unbelievable... I'll probably die of excitement when the full thing comes out! :laugh3:

"Hurts Like Heaven" Lyrics
Slightly pointless addition: My earphone socket on my computer is slightly messed up - whenever I play music on it through the earphones it distorts everything that's normally in the foreground and somehow brings up stuff in the background of a song - have no idea why but hey... Anyway, was listening to the iTunes Festival show (HLH to be specific) and to my surprise, the pre-recorded vocals they put on in the background came up INCREDIBLY clear, and so this is what I heard: The lyrics used in the pre-recorded bits are in italics (we already know 99% of these lyrics anyway, but I'm assuming the bits I heard were from the studio version, so will be right... I hope :D Written in graffiti on a bridge in a park Do you ever get the feeling that you're missing the mark? It's so cold, so cold It's so cold, so cold Written up in marker on a factory sign I struggle with the feeling that my life isn't mine It's so cold, so cold It's so cold, so cold See the arrow they shot, trying to tear us apart Take the fire from my belly and the beat from my heart And still I won't let go Still I won't let go Of you Cos you do Oh, you use your heart as a weapon And it hurts like heaven On every street, every car, every surface are names And as the streets arise, we'll be writing and saying Don't let them take control No we won't let them take control! Yes I feel a little bit nervous Yes I feel nervous and I cannot relax How come they're out to get us? How come they're out when they don't know the facts So on a concrete canvas under cover of dark Concrete canvas I'll go making my mark Armed with the spray can soul I'll be armed with the spray can soul You, you... You use your heart as a weapon And it hurts like heaven Whoa, whoa.... It's true When you use your heart as a weapon And it hurts like heaven

LP5 Comparison
For me, it's Viva > X&Y > AROBTTH > Parachutes, so it's the more recent the better - here's hoping LP5 keeps up the trend! :D
-
The Tracklisting
I thought they said there were 3 'U' songs BEFORE they wrote Up In Flames; which was a last-minute addition - which would mean UFO, Us Against The World and Up With The Birds are all still contenders - and there are now 4 'U' songs in consideration. Or have I got that wrong?
-
My idea of LP5 album artwork
I think it'd be cool if they did a standard and a deluxe version of the album (or something similar), with the standard version just being the walking man.... walking :) and the deluxe version being the walking man doing the crazy stuff as seen during Hurts Like Heaven...

'Up In Flames' - A Last Minute Idea
Wow, never noticed that! :stunned: I noticed the thing where they have a name with a colour on every album: Yellow, Green Eyes, White Shadows, Violet Hill... and I guess now Charlie Brown or maybe Golden Arrow! There's Til Kingdom Come on X&Y as well, even if it's a hidden track...

Mylo Xyloto cant be just Coincidence
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was July 1st when the interview took place, which was a Friday. So it's been almost four weeks... don't know how it's gone so fast, the wait for the band to announce something (whatever it is) has been torture! :D Can't be long now, surely...

My idea of LP5 album artwork
Thanks :) I'm liking the picture... I decided to try and make one from my idea after all... All done quickly in Paint, because I fail at Photoshop :D
-
My idea of LP5 album artwork
All of these are amazing! I have no skills in Paint, Photoshop etc. but my idea for the LP5 artwork is: a busy street (in black and white) filled with people walking, and in the middle, the 'walking man' (in colour). I know a picture would probably be better, but I don't want to embarrass myself with my picture-creating incompetence... :laugh3:

LP5 Title - Your Guess
I quite like Mylo Xyloto as a title; I don't know why, but I feel it fits with the style of some of the new songs, particularly ETIAW and MX/Hurts Like Heaven - a bit fun, very slightly crazy, quite vibrant... and some other cool-sounding words that I can't think of right now. :D

The Tracklisting
My tracklist: 1. MX / Hurts Like Heaven 2. Major Minus 3. Up With The Birds 4. Alien Radio 5. Golden Arrow 6. Princess Of China 7. Us Against The World 8. Charlie Brown 9. UFO 10. Car Kids 11. Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall 12. Don't Let It Break Your Heart As much as I love Moving To Mars, I don't think it will turn up on the tracklist. And I think that we wouldn't have a lot of these songs being played if they weren't very strong contenders for the final tracklist - but I wouldn't complain if it turns out we get a completely new set! :)
