I'd put it after Major Minus, as I grew used to it placed there on the ETIAW EP. Maybe after Paradise too, I had Coldplay on shuffle a few days ago and those two went nicely after each other, don't know how it sounds going into Charlie Brown though. Yet.

MX is fantastic! I'm in!

I think maybe the band will post a YouTube 'listening post' themselves as they did after ETIAW, Major Minus, Moving to Mars and Paradise all aired. But even if they don't, someone will definitely have it up on there within 20 minutes at the most.

I'm pretty sure MX is just 42 seconds long, no more than that. Chris refers to Hurts Like Heaven as the album opener so I'm guessing he wouldn't call it that if MX was a full song. In addition to that, a few sources have the track time as 0:42. But I would love to be proven wrong, to be honest!

The lengths were given by allmusic, who tend to be a reliable source. The album up for pre-order on the Tesco website (here) also gives the same track times. So I'm thinking these are the final track times.

Looking forward to this one; shame it's only just over two minutes long though.

Parachutes: 7.5 AROBTTH: 8 X&Y: 8.5 VLV: 9 MX: 9.5 so far. I love every song from MX so far, and having heard some version or another of 9 out of 14 tracks on the album, with 2 of those remaining being short instrumentals; really only 3 tracks could disappoint me now: UFO, DLIBYH and UWTB. And I'm sure they won't! :D

Welcome to the boards :D Yeah, the album will undoubtedly be all over the internet on the 19th, but there's still a strong chance that it will leak before that, but I imagine there'll be all sorts of methods being used to prevent such a huge album getting out early. I voted for October 15th as an educated guess. Of sorts. :)

Well, I personally love ETIAW and Paradise - not my favourite Coldplay songs but they're still really good in my opinion - so I won't be skipping them. But even if I did, I don't like getting rid of songs in albums, especially if one segues into another, as it just sounds wrong to me. The only one I have ever done that with was Elbow's Seldom Seen Kid album, and although I love Friend Of Ours, I much prefer One Day Like This as an album closer. Cos, y'know, I'm odd like that :P

I wouldn't call Amsterdam hidden at all, it's on the tracklist, but you're right about the other two. And there may be hidden tracks although I doubt it with 14 songs - that seems a bit long already - but who knows? For all we know, there could actually be 20 songs on the album! (But I hope not :P)

This would mean the average length of a song on MX would be over five minutes! As most of the songs we've heard are four minutes or under (assuming live versions are about the same length on the studio version), this would mean some songs could hit as much as 9-10 minutes long! So I don't think that's the album length at all, but I don't have any other suggestions as to what it means.

A quick run-through, some lengths rounded: Mylo Xyloto - 3:30 (according to the database entry we saw 2 months ago) Hurts Like Heaven - 4:00 (roughly, acccording to the live version) Paradise - 4:38 (confirmed) Charlie Brown - 4:20 (roughly, according to the live version, with piano at the end) Us Against The World - 4:00 (according to live version) M.M.I.X. - Unknown Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall - 4:03 (confirmed) Major Minus - 3:30 (confirmed) UFO - Unknown Princess Of China - 3:30 (according to live version) Up In Flames - Unknown A Hopeful Transmission - Unknown Don't Let It Break Your Heart - Unknown Up With The Birds - 3:30 (according to database entries) That gets us 9 tracks; totalling 35:01. Of the remaining 5, two are confirmed "full" songs, so we'll estimate 3:30 for each of them, getting us 42:01, and the last three are completely unknown. So the album will almost definitely be over 42 minutes. As for MMIX, UFO and AHT, I'd guess they too are full songs (no evidence to support that at all), so I estimate MX to have a length of about 52:30.

7.5.08 = 7th May 2008 = First time Viva was made available (although not as a full single)? Probably not the reason :P

The BBC did a 'first listen' review where they referred to Fallen Empires as a 'belter of an opener' so I guess it's track 1 on the album. (Link) Sorry if that's already been posted, but I think it shows that Fallen Empires WILL be on the album. Personally, I like all the songs they've put out for the album so far, they sound a little bit more stripped back but still amazing! My favourite is This Isn't Everything You Are at the moment.

Surely its 12 we havent heard studio versions of? 14 on album, we've already heard ETIAW and Major Minus' final versions. And come tomorrow, we'll have heard Paradise too!
