  1. Yo, where y'all at?! I'm on break and here for once ... I miss this place!
  2. I'm terrified by the fact that the Powerpuff Girls are actually bug-eyed, fingerless five year olds in the canon of their cartoon, solely because of the chemical X they were made with.
  3. Thanks man!! First concert too ... holy shit, I'm so excited, I can't wait for July!!
  4. My parents got me tickets to see Coldplay live in NYC on my 21st birthday ... You have no idea how happy I am about this fact, words cannot simply describe it, omg ..
  5. I KNOW!!! I'm actually pretty upset. I loved Top Gear, for anyone who doesn't know, and just ... what happened with Jeremy was terrible, but Top Gear is not Top Gear without the TG3. Hell, they're the TG3, it's in the nickname! As my girlfriend said, "Top Gear is not 'Top Gear' anymore, it's 'Flop Gear.'"
  6. There's lots of gluten free options here, and I love it! Just be careful with that, just because it SAYS it's gluten free may not mean that it is. I work in a pizzeria right now which deals with high gluten baking flower to make the dough almost daily, and they do make gluten-free pizzas and cannolis. We had a customer have a reaction to one of the gluten free cannolis not too long ago, I think this person had a straight up wheat allergy, more than just being a celiac, but the point still stands, be careful. I would hate for you to have a reaction like that! And I'm just sensitive to gluten and found out I was lactose intolerant when I was about 7. I can handle it ... but it's still going to give me a digestive upset. I'm terrified of it getting worse! I'm too much of a sucker for pastas and sweets.
  7. It was rather bizarre, and my parents kinda hated the idea of me being online for anything but school work after a while for fear of more viruses ... they got over it. I rejoined and I don't think they know I did. But I wanted to, I had made friends here! It was weird having to communicate through Brooke to you guys. Not bad, mind you, I just felt bad having to message Brooke on dA and then have her relay my messages to people over here when I could have done it myself. And it's something about knowing the behind-the-scenes that can really increase you're respect for an art piece, music, film, or even video game. It can also kind of make you see where things went wrong *cough**cough*STARWARSPREQUELS*cough**cough* but you know, that's not always.
  8. I just warmed up some left over lasagna we got from a local pasta place after going out for dinner last night. Full of gluten and cheese, neither of which I should have, but it's worth the digestive problems later. It's so tasty and delicious!! And it's only something I get once in a great while so ... treat yo' self!
  9. I changed my name due to a virus that got in to the family desktop ... then I got my tablet and just rejoined off my dad's laptop .. :lipsrsealed2: And you should totally watch it, it's so good! If nothing else, like the other two Beatles movies, it shows you what tripping may be like. It's a 60's animated movie, so, the animation's bright and weird and definitely fits the period. Plus ... I'm an animation nerd, and can't get over how well it turned out after hearing the history of progress of the movie.

I know exactly what you mean, lol. Hopefully they don't become too much of a wad and start acting like a bastard. The other quote I always keep in my mind is, "Don't be a jerk, go do something nice for someone." Something my brother reminded me of doing when I got to college. Because you never know, "Buying someone coffee one day could lead to you getting a sweet job somewhere some day, or even a new friend."
  11. coldplayer#16 replied to alisbe's topic in The Lounge
"Non Carborundum Illegitimi" is something my mom taught me for school, Latin for "Don't let the bastards get you down." Otherwise, take a note from Jeremy Hillary Boob PhD. in Yellow Submarine, "Ad loc, ad hoc, and quid pro quo! So little time, so much to know!" I always liked that line in the movie, don't know why, just do.
  12. It does. First year/freshman year, that's how it is in the states, anyway. May be different in other states, but that's how it is where I am. And dang! I joined this site ... at least 5 years ago now, under my usual name and then came back under this current name/account a year later. Also, anyone here seen The Beatles Yellow Submarine? I'm in love with this film all over again, it was my favorite as a kid and I got it for Christmas on DVD and I adore it for so many more reasons than I did as a little girl. I just wonder if any of y'all have seen it?
  13. Hello hello!! And also, dang, has it been that long?! :o .. I'm a second semester junior in college now ... wow, it has been, holy crap.
  14. I work while I'm home, so I have money to spend at school. I don't work at school, not yet, anyway. And clinical has it's own day dedicated to it, it's a full shift (7am-4pm or, in my case, 2pm-11pm) in a hospital assigned to us once a week. We're usually assigned to a nurse or patient, depending on how busy the floor is, and go around and take vitals, give medication (with our instructor present), do a head to toe assessment, and then write up a care plan on a patient for the next clinical. It certainly feels like I only have time for school work ... it is a bit .. weird, but you know, that happens. And hey, at least it's a minimized travel time! I mean, not seeing friends sucks, but it's still really nice to not be far away.
  15. That's awesome! And yeah, clinical is basically like a pre-internship, I get to practice the skills we're lectured on in class. Coming up on OB/Pediatrics this semester! (pregnant women and then children). I look forward to that a lot. And America's weird, I'm at a private, Catholic school, so, we get nearly a month of break (a little over .. I've been working most of it) and then we get an Easter break, most other schools do not. Private funding and Catholic basis ... even if I'm not a catholic, basically sets that up. That all sounds really cool! I can't wait to see all my friends again .. you're lucky everyone's so close!
  16. Nice!! I'm on Christmas break still (Catholic uni = loooooong Christmas and an actual Easter break, unlike state unis/colleges) and it's been busy. I'm in my clinical rotations in school for nursing, which is basically like, me being junior nurse in training in an area hospital. It's been busy, stressful, but good on the whole. How about you? It's been so long ..
  17. gfasdhzkulf.urdffkjhfjkhmskdgk YOOOOOOOO!! And sort of ... it's got a pulse, so that's a start!
  18. It is a lot of fun, believe me. I miss being here more, but alas, school and then uni's taken up a lot of my time ...
  19. I'm 20 years old ... lol. Also, totally want to do this now in the student center back at my uni with my friends. March with kazoos and be adults. Aww yeah.
  20. It's really not, but I have to think part of that is the inactivity of those who created/used to use this thread regularly. I remember having Alex set this thread up to avoid spamming in other ones back in 2011 (god, I know it really isn't, but it felt like so long ago). But how about we change that? Quick Christmas hauls (if you haven't posted it in other threads) anyone? I got 4 Coldplay albums (Brothers and Sisters, A Head Full Of Dreams, Coldplay - B-sides & Rarities, and then Viva on vinyl), new clothes, lots of chocolates, Cards Against Humanity expansion packs, a new book of stories (Doctor Who - Time Lord Fairy Tales), iTunes money and a gift card for a clothing store called Torrid. And some money which is much appreciated for things like textbooks and an upcoming convention near my uni.

I haven't really given any Coldplay gifts, save for little drawings and such I've done for people online, but I think all of the band's albums I have were gifts of some kind, and I got a new AHFOD poster today for free after going shopping at the record store!
  22. Not the best images ever (thanks phone!) but our campus is all lit up for the holidays!
