  1. Dog Martin :awesome:
  2. YAY SMILEY FACES!! Anyway, the majority of my work is here, otherwise it's sketches and they're all on Tumblr/Instagram. And what you've got in the gallery is pretty good :) and is it only 1am? Go figure, it's only quarter passed 9 here in the states (in my time zone, at least). And now, I must go, I have work in the morning and such. I leave you with this though: (since we were talking about heroes)
  3. Any time, and I did Captain America and The Avengers more than anything (they were my first comics) so I could focus more on faces, I recommend doing Hulk more for drawing body/exposed muscles practice. Whatever you want to do though, so long as you practice. And I'd love to see some of your cartoons :) I still have a really hard time with realism too, even with drawing heroes, but it gets better over time.
  4. I'm late, but if I may add in on the whole drawing faces thing? If you know me (I understand if you don't, that's cool, I know lots don't know me) I cartoon A LOT. I tried drawing faces two years ago for an art project and the ones I drew came out like SHIT! I looked through my mom's anatomy books, my old how-to-draw books, even my brother's "How to Draw Marvel Characters" book. I learned better with stuff that appealed to me, so I don't know if this would be too great of a suggestion, but start off with how to draw semi-realistic comic book characters. I mean, sure, comics aren't proper anatomy, they add in muscles to make the Hulk look like . . . well, the Hulk, but it was a good place to start. For example, I did these yesterday: I'm sorry that's so long and drawn out, no pun intended, but that's I how I learn how to draw faces realistically. I'm still working on it, but I practice every chance I get, so there's that. However, Thalia's right, anatomy books are your best friend, they're so helpful.
  5. Minor Trollplayer update:
  6. Trollplayer update:
  7. (oh hey, my brains aren't scrambled any more . . .) Coldplay in Wonderland Part 35:
  8. ^ Wow, kid's got talent! I love it when kids draw though, and he did an awesome job with the walking man :) I hate shifting the topic, but I have a couple new doodles and such (I've finished a charcoal self-portrait and such, but I still have to photograph it properly):
  9. It's fine, I understand, I just have to be careful because I run the Trollplayers' Tumblr and have to be sure what is and isn't made by them (to avoid confusion and whatnot). One of the Trollplayers did post it though, and like I said, it's fine :)
  10. Um . . . I don't think the Trollplayers made that, I've seen it before they posted it and I think the "WTF" on the post was a "What the f*ck is this?!" not a "What the f*ck did I just make?!" But that's me being that guy, sorry, I do think that it is great but still slightly bizarre.
  11. ^ That's why I put the Albi song there :P I love FOTC, I wish they'd kept their HBO series going, but alas, they moved on. Bret (one of the 2 in the band) won an Emmy or something for doing the music in the Muppets movie. Anyway, forgetting if I've posted this, but allow me to be a bit egotistical and post this for all the Coldplay and Sherlock persons:
  12. Indeed, it's a good song. I can't find the version from the show though, so enjoy this little tidbit instead: Moving on: (yes, this is from the Trollplayers, Tumblr post is here so that everyone can see)
  13. ^ Last gif, FOTC (Flight of the Conchords) and Doctor Who, YES!!! . . . I'm a fan of both shows. Okay, kinda out of place for this thread, but THANK YOU for properly crediting the post, I see the Trollplayers stuff all over with no link back and that bothers me a lot. Just saying . . .
  14. ^ Yeah :|
  15. What's wrong with Tumblr? . . . I probably shouldn't be talking, some of my artwork shows up too. Um . . . as previously pointed out, we are NOT insulting Chris and Jonny, and I'm curious as well, how is gay insulting? I think everyone else has summed it up pretty well, so I'm done adding on to what has already been said. Thank you, Brooke. And yes, that gif is awesome :awesome:
  16. Okay, so, obviously I've missed a lot. I had some new chapters and was looking forward to reading some of the new posts, but reading hurts. Allow me to explain; I've managed to mess myself up again, my brains are scrambled (and by that I mean I've given myself a mild concussion). I'm just saying this now to say that: 1.) I'm not dead and 2.) By the time I get better (about 2 or so weeks the doctor says) I'll have some new stuff and whatnot. So, yep, I should probably get off the internet now.
  17. ^ Pretty much
  18. You guys just made me choke on my hot chocolate, way to go. (but omg :sneaky: :awesome:)
  19. Well, my art teacher let us trace the outlines of our face before we started with charcoal, he even traced his for his example so . . . yeah. I'm having trouble with the values, though, always have.
  20. HOORAY FOR INVADING THREADS!! :awesome: And a portrait huh? Cool, we're doing self-portraits in Portfolio.
  21. Oh, whatcha drawing? :awesome:
  22. ^ oh yeah, well . . . I can still invade!! (like I am now :D)
  23. Haha, thanks, and it feels weird still being #16 for my user name(s), since that's not the right number anymore :P
  24. So many photos, so little paper . . . it's not even noon yet and I'm drawing Buckin when I should be doing homework, that's a record, guys.
