Doctor Who ???......
Ten weird/cool things in Doctor Who. 1. The Statue of Liberty was closed in 1938 for renovation. When is The Angels Take Manhattan set? 1938. 2. In The Eleventh Hour, Rory's badge says he has been a nurse since 1990. He's roughly 30, in that episode, right? He gets sent back to 1938, and 1990-1938=52. 52+30=82... 3. The Tenth Doctor's first episode was The Parting of the Ways ("New teeth!"). The chapter in Harry Potter that Barty Crouch Jr dies is... The Parting of the Ways. (Barty Crouch Jr was played in the films by Tennant) 4. Matt Smith has been in Secret Diary of a Call Girl, a show starring Billie Piper (Rose) as a prostitute. This means Billie Piper has acted with, and actually got off with, all three incarnations of the Doctor since its revival. 5. In the episode Dalek, Henry van Statton correctly predicts there will be a Democrat president in 2012. 6. What number does the Doctor wear when he's playing football with Craig in the Lodger? Eleven. In Asylum of the Daleks, how much trouble did the Doctor tell Rory they were in, on a scale of 1-10? Eleven. Oh, and there's the episode, The Eleventh Hour. Matt Smith's the Eleventh Doctor. 7. In the Eleventh Hour, there is a Pond with no ducks. Which was never explained. 8. During the meal the Doctor has with the Ponds in The Power of Three, where Brian tells them to go with him, he's drinking from the glass that he used in The Eleventh Hour to listen through the crack in Amelia's wall. 9. Rory has died nine times. In Vampires of Venice, he is wearing a number 9 shirt on his stag do. 10. In The Shakespeare Code, the Doctor remarks that a skull looks like a Sycorax's, the alien from The Christmas Invasion. Shakespeare says he's going to use that word. He did; it's a name of a character in the Tempest. So you know... that was planned.

Doctor Who ???......
I understood the episode, I just felt it was a poor storyline propped up with a gimmick of him being the next Doctor to try and get higher ratings. I never believed he was the next Doctor, either. Maybe I would've if he was played by someone like Benedict Cumberbatch or Adrian Lester.

The Blur Thread
It's just my opinion. I don't think many bands could carry on past 35/40, unless they're still making exceptional music. Not many do. It's my opinion that an artist should value ambition over anything else; Blur are different to everyone else, they've always been much more than a rock band, but you get what I mean.

Do you care about Music Critics and their reviews?
Good reviewers don't publish opinions, they publish facts. They tell you what songs sound like. The only opinions you'll see are the number of stars, and whether they think the songs work. You can't fabricate much else; you can't say "The XX are breaking new ground on Coexist" when they're clearly not, can you? I enjoy reading reviews because I like how other people can sum up how I feel about a piece of music, or teach me something new about it. I don't think anyone actually bases their opinions on reviews, but the music press are vital, especially in today's world. We can download any old shit these days, the world needs experts to show us decent stuff. The guy who did that, Niall, I met him when I worked at Q. Good bloke. He gets so much mail, it's unreal.

He was supporting Coldplay, saw that I was wearing a light-up t-shirt and said "I love you, in your light-up shirt". I was popular for about five minutes, girls around me lost their collective shit.

I doubt anyone will care about the "mainstream" in however many years, I mean does anyone actually know what was number one in 1992? I'm only 20, and I found it strange when my dad said the Who never had a number one single. Or that Led Zep never even released a single over here. Likewise, I struggle to believe that Paranoid Android was number 2 in the charts here, or that Take That and Spice were both Mercury-nominated. Good music's good music, who cares who listened to it?

Lostprophets
I had a mate who left halfway through a Radiohead set to go and watch them. So close to disowning him for all eternity.

end of the world etc
My mum's work were very kind to give her the end of the world off work. She has to work the following weekend though.

He's not been proven guilty, but no matter what, his reputation's ruined. Other than that, he's no different to anyone else. Just because he was in a band, doesn't mean it's any more or less shocking, shameful or sad.

Doctor Who ???......
Other quite famous actors to appear in Doctor Who: Michael Gambon (A Christmas Carol, series 5) Bill Nighy (Vincent and the Doctor, series 5) Peter Kay (Love and Monsters, series 2) Maureen Lipman (The Idiot's Lantern, series 2) James Corden (The Lodger, series 5 & Closing Time, series 6) Alex Kingston (Silence in the Library, series 4, recurring after that) Derek Jacobi (Utopia, series 3) John Simm (Utopia, The Sound of Drums, The Last of the Timelords, series 3 & The End of Time, special) Kylie Minogue (Voyage of the Damned, series 3) Timothy Dalton (The End of Time, special) Bill Bailey (The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe, series 6) Richard E Grant (The Snowmen, series 7) Ian McKellen (The Snowmen, series 7) That's all I can think of.

I don't agree with Parrot-Dies about much, but the 90s were quality. I'd go back and live it again if I could. Where I'm from, R&B is really uncool. Frank Ocean and The Weeknd make it cool.

whats on your desktop?
That's the stylish but illegal monkey found roaming Ikea Toronto, right? We've had right lols with that over here. NME editor loves it, people have compared it to Liam Gallagher, Chimp-agne Supernova, Don't Look Macac in Anger, etc. it's been such fun.

The Blur Thread
They are capable but it doesn't matter how good it is, it's going to be a disappointment for so many people; since they announced they were back, we've been waiting for it. That's why the two singles had mixed reactions. That's why I think they should take a break and then release it out of the blue. People have been expecting it for nearly four years. Break that expectation, then the announcement of an album can only be positive thing, because the fans will have thought it wasn't coming. Do you see what I mean? Gorillaz have unfinished business, Damon said he'd do a solo album. So I'm quite happy to still get material from Damon and Graham while we wait for the time to be right for a Blur record. Aren't many bands that you can get that from. :D Radiohead are a bit different, in that they haven't really been a "rock" band for a long time. Rock is, in my opinion, a young genre, and it disappointed me slightly when Alex said that Blur could stay relevant "like the Foo Fighters, who still appeal to kids". As brilliant as Dave Grohl is, Foo Fighters are not a good example of an ambitious, exciting rock band for me; something that I've always associated Blur with being. I don't want a Blur album for the sake of nostalgia and feeling young again, I want them back because they have something to give. Which I feel they do.

Reading/Leeds 2013
Laughed out loud when I heard Eminem was headlining. Take that, narrow-minded, elitest, "we want rock bands like Paramore" Reading fans.

The Blur Thread
The longer they take to write an album, the bigger the hurdle becomes. My mate said they should take over a really small venue like Shepard's Bush Empire in 2014 and play 13 in its entirety, for the 15-year anniversary. I love that idea. Otherwise, I'd quite happily see Blur go back on hiatus for a few years. I think they've missed the boat for a new album, personally. They had the chance before, but now it's been hyped up so much, they don't need this sort of pressure. I want Damon solo stuff, Graham solo stuff, either of them to work with Noel, a Gorillaz film, and then the announcement of a Blur record ten days before it's out, a la In Rainbows. Just a personal preference, though :P

I waved at Paloma Faith. She was in her tour bus, I was outside, she was playing the ground floor of the o2 Academy, I'd seen a gig on the upper floor. I then winked and blew her a kiss. She smiled, but it could've gone either way if she'd known I actually don't really like her music that much.

Another tour's as fine as long as it's not in the UK. Can they really ride the same wave of nostalgia in the same city four years after they made up?
