  1. Not really! I just find the statement so out there that there's really no point for me to dwell on it. I'm not going to find a common ground with someone claiming U2's latest work is a masterpiece, way better the Mylo Xyloto. My advice to them is to go enjoy U2. That's all.
  2. Mission accomplished, I'd say. Based on the poll in this thread, most fans have a positive response to this video.
  3. If you feel that U2 has delivered masterpiece materiel after 30 years, then you and I have absolutely nothing to say to each other. That's a non-starter since I would never pay a penny to go to a U2 concert, let alone sit through their latest album. It's all a matter of taste, you see! I'm just saying, instead of wasting your time complaining about Coldplay and "what could have been", just go enjoy U2 and Radiohead. It's time better spent. Of couse, if you want to waste it on Coldplay, that's totally up to you. That was just a suggestion.
  4. I disagree. The complaint is that Coldplay has become too commercial, they cater to the masses, they're no longer musical purists. If that's your opinion, then why waste time on them instead of focusing on bands that fit your taste so to speak? Radiohead is such a band as they never make an effort to attract new audiences. If anything, they've done everything they could to focus on their worshiping tight nit fanbase. I'm not picking on them, it's just just that the whining that I've been reading around here logically lead me to think that those whining might be very happy in Radiohead land.
  5. If you're not unhappy with their music, then of course you shouldn't leave them alone. Remark I said leaving them alone, not leaving this place. I don't own it. :) My post was addressing those who claim the band sold out just b/c they want to do things that appeal to the mainstream. I love their music so much I want the whole world to know about it.
  6. It's about time some of you focus on Radiohead and leave Coldplay alone if you're that unhappy. Just saying!
  7. So what is it about? I wouldn't be a fan today if I hadn't caught a Fix You cover on a talent show (I know that is supposed to be a dig for some on these boards). I was too busy to pay attention to new music for a long time and missed chance after chance to check out Coldpay. So I do understand the band's perspective in this instance.
  8. The trip to South Africa last year might as well have been a benefit concert
  9. You and I can only express our opinions (just like with the set list), the band doesn't consult us before making their decisions and they've obviously decided they're not too good for the X Factor and Glee. I happen to agree with them in this instance while you disagree. That's life! We just have to deal with it:)
  10. Chris was in great form, wasn't he? My son Pepsi joke was hilariious
  11. Just with everything, it's a matter of opinion. Some of us don't find the move stupid at all. You can go as far back as Glastonbury 2002 when people were accusing the band of wanting to become a big band (blasphemy). The answer then and the answer now is that we want our work to be heard by as many people as possible. Glee does that for them. Hopefully it'll be a decent cover like the Scientist and not awful like Fix You.
  12. Just like with the setlist, the band does what they want to do. Here's Chris' take on Coldplay songs being performed on Glee. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5l0cKaia3I]Cold Play - Phone Interview with Billy Bush - YouTube[/ame] At around the 5:00 mark
  13. Fix You was awful, The Scientist was decent. Had I not heard it before, I would have tried to find the original after watching Glee. So it's not all bad. Didn't Chris say that the band's objective is to expose Coldplay music to as many people as possible? Glee is watched by millions every week. Performing Coldplay music can only bring on new fans. It's all good.
  14. Not a Coldplay song, but rather a Chris Martin cover of Earth Angel at the Bridge Academy School in 2009
  15. This is a show where musical pros get to tell aspiring singers that they suck. I can't see Chris doing that.
  16. Stupid Robbie Robbie Williams - Robbie Williams' called Gwyneth's daughter Melon 08 October 2012 http://www.contactmusic.com/news/robbie-williams-called-gwyneth-s-daughter-melon_3317329
  17. I can't imagine humble Chris criticizing prospective singers, giving thumbs up or down. That is just so wrong so I hope this isn't true.
  18. Yeah, I didn't want to give credence to the pregnancy rumors. I was just questioning the Clint Eastwood movie part.
  19. This Yahoo France article http://fr.news.yahoo.com/gwyneth-paltrow-enceinte-094200452.html claims that Gwyneth turned down a role in Clint Eastwood A Star Is Born. I thought Beyonce was the one supposed to be in that one.
  20. I'm really not into comics but I'll buy every single copy b/c it's Coldplay related. My only objection about this video is that Jonny's solos were cut short. Some fans can be overly dramatic on this board. Yeah, says the woman who threatened to strip naked if they didn't play Politik at her concert. I'm so over it so save it! PS. What's not to like about the PoC video? Chris looks as handsome as ever. That alone is reason to watch the video over and over again.
  21. Ah! Beyonce just took the stage at the Jay-Z Barclay Center concert. She said, I want to say happy birthday to a special friend of mine. Gwyn, I love you! Then she performed Crazy In Love. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gF6Dwt2m9jY]Beyoncé feat. Jay-Z "Diva & Crazy In Love" Barclays Center 27/09/2012. - YouTube[/ame] The bday wish is at around 3:02
  22. When you watch a Jay-Z concert streaming online hoping to catch a glimpse of Chris in the audience.
  23. I bet I know where they're spending this evening. Jay-Z is performing at the new Barclay Center in Brooklyn for the 7th or 8th night in a row. It's supposed to be live on youtube.
