How to meet Coldplay "Tactics"
I was there waiting with you! I was so bummed that night. It was nice getting to meet Wolf Gang though. I'm considering going to the NJ shows Aug 3rd and 4th and try my chances of meeting them after the concert..

Getting a Set list
Only tips I have is to ask in advance maybe. At my D.C concert July 8th they gave out two setlists, one to a little girl behind me in the second row and the other to a couple in the front row with me. The girl was kind enough to let me take a picture of her setlist though haha.

How do you get an upgrade at a Coldplay show?
I saw them in D.C both shows but I want to seem them AGAIN live lol. Knowing that they may not be near by for a little while makes me want to see them as much as possible. So I may see them both nights at that NJ show. I'll have nose bleed seats for sure during that show but I'm more set on my chances of meeting them after the concert. I'm sure they'd come out at least one of the two nights to meet some fans. As for the ticket, it depends. For our seats, they were such crappy nose bleed seats that the roadies didn't ask for ours. However, the next day my friends got upgraded from section 109 to 2nd row seats. They did take their tickets. So if they don't take your tickets, it would be very nice of you if you did that! I was considering Boston too but it's just too far from D.C for this kind of trip. Considering your height, it might be hard to see. Floor seats are interesting. I like that you're involved with all the props Coldplay uses during the show, and I like that you're kind of expected to stand during the whole show. You can jump as you please and what not. But sometimes it is hard to see, so I hope you have a good view or get upgraded!

How to meet Coldplay "Tactics"
I saw Coldplay in D.C twice July 8th and 9th. We had a pretty bad storm so I didn't wait on the 8th and I really regret it because he actually came out to sign stuff for people that night. The second night I waited but since the D.C show was the last one before their 2 week break, apparently they left the Verizon Center asap. We waited about an extra hour plus for them to come out and all the security people said they left a long time ago. We started to believe them once people with Coldplay MX passes told us they left. On the plus side, we did get to meet Wolf Gang while waiting for Coldplay! They were really nice and let us take a picture. So for future concerts, I'll probably start seeing both of their shows in the area and will always wait outside after the concert! I used to think the chances of meeting Coldplay was really rare but it seems very possible now. I mean on the 8th my friend and I were lucky enough to get upgraded from nose bleed to front row seats so anythings possible! Jonny even acknowledged me twice during that concert which was super awesome! Coldplay is just awesome!

How do you get an upgrade at a Coldplay show?
I purchased floor seats (section 2) Mylo Xyloto tour tickets all the way back in December of 2011. This would of been my 3rd Coldplay concert ever, so I wanted to do it big. Lets fast forward to May of 2012. A friend from Texas was coming into town and I recommended we go see Coldplay. I already was going with someone on the 9th, so I figured i'd just buy cheap seats for the 8th. I believe we were placed in section 419 which is super high up. We arrived to the Verizon Center about 20 minutes before they opened the doors to the public. We got our Xylobands, got our tickets scanned, and headed to our seats in 419! Once we got up there, both our seats were broken and not suitable for viewing a concert in them. I flag down an usher and explain to him our problem. He then finds some service workers to try and repair the seats. They said that the seats couldn't be repaired, so they had to walk us to guest services to get new seats. I knew that those service men weren't the roadies I heard about on this forum, but I kept hopes high thinking hmm, maybe we'll be upgraded to some really nice seats. That didn't happen, we were basically moved over to the other side of the arena and a tad bit lower, but still in the 400 section. So about 15 minutes later, I spot a roadie pulling a group of two girls to the side asking them "hey, did you girls make these posters?" "how big of fans of Coldplay are you". I knew exactly what was going on, and I wanted to throw myself in front of them and try to request tickets. She offered them seats between the first 3 rows. You see, I actually made my own shirt for the concert. I had a friend photoshop me into a picture with coldplay that looked pretty funny but only something a true fan would do. So once she finished talking to them, I tell me friend, I'll be right back and I try to find her to talk to her. She walked so fast that I couldn't catch her so I kind of gave up and headed back to my seat, bummed out. Then I gained hope again and tried a second time to find a roadie. At this point, I knew how they acted so I felt that I could spot one from anywhere. What do you know, I did spot another roadie upgrading a group of guys to one of the front 3 rows. I tried to catch him but he also walked too fast to speak to. I was going to say "hey, do you know where the bathroom is, hoping he would notice my shirt i created. I eventually gave up trying to track him down and just went back to my seat. At this point I forced myself to just forget about it and enjoy the concert..after all, the next show I'd be in section 2 in front of the X stage. So Wolfgang performed and I LOVED THEM. I checked them out before the concert and the king and all of his men was by far my favorite song by them that i've heard. Anyway, after they were done they said, he we'll be in section 114 or something like that if you wanted to get stuff signed by them or to meet them. My friend said hey lets go there! I kind of recommended that we didn't since I didn't want to risk missing the start of coldplay. She said that there was enough time to get there to meet them. So we leave our seats and head to 114. Before we even get 20 feet away, a guy standing on the side randomly stops us saying "hey guys you coldplay fans". I knew EXACTLY what was going on because he was the same guy I was trying to track down. My friend however thought he was a creep at first since shes used to that kind of thing lol. He showed us his badge and asked if we were happy with our seats etc. We of course say any seat is a good one for Coldplay. Then he asks if we're the only people in our group and we say yes. He tells us he has 4 tickets left between the first 3 rows on the floor if we want them. At this point I'm going crazy, after reading so many people getting upgraded on this site, I never thought it would happen to me! He even had popcorn and offered me some, I of course take some! He guides us to the lower level. I'm so pumped that I call my mom and tell her the good news. We get down to the lower level and he hands us our tickets. First row on the floor, left of the X stage cat walk. It looked as if they reserved the first 3 rows for "true fans" that get lucky enough for tickets. Rows 4 and back looked like really rich people who were only sitting that close up because they could afford it. They didn't look anywhere near as exited as any of us within the first 3 rows. Now, I'm a 21 year old male. I've been a coldplay fan ever since I heard Clocks and In My Place for the first time back in the 6th grade. There was only one other guy in the row. The rest were 14-17 year old girls haha, but I didn't mind, they were all really nice. Some of the girls on the left of me were so pumped that they asked me the name of some of the songs Coldplay played. I gladly told them the names since I love myself some Coldplay trivia! The man who upgraded us to the seats came back about 2 other times during the concert to see how we all were doing up there. He was very kind and funny. During the concert, I can't tell you HOW AMAZING IT WAS TO BE SO CLOSE TO COLDPLAY. I think after this concert, Jonny became my favorite Coldplayer. I forgot which song it was, but Chris was being Chris and running all around. It seemed as if everyones attention was all on Chris on the X Stage but I turned around and continued to look at Jonny. I of course had my camera out recording and i scream Jonny!!! I wave and what not to get his attention and he actually noticed me and kind of smiled and made eye contact! That by far was the coolest thing ever, just being noticed by someone from Coldplay was awesome!!! At the end of the concert, there were two setlists given out to people in the first and second row. One was a little girl who sat behind me. The other was to a couple that I believe was one of the first to be upgraded to the floor seats. The little girl however was kind enough to let me take a picture of her setlist. I personally would of framed it but I guess I can frame the picture of the setlist So that's basically my story. Here are some tips/advice if you're going to a Coldplay concert soon. 1) It's ok to bring a point and shoot camera, they didn't have a problem with it. It just can't be a professional camera. 2) Feel free to record during the concert. The event staff guys were really strict against recording when the 2 acts were on before Coldplay, but they never told anyone or me to stop when Coldplay came on stage. I got maybe 1-2 mean looks from the event staff guy but he didn't tell me to stop . 3) If you want your seats upgraded, being on the highest level (400ish) helps a lot. Try to get to the concert early and walk around the halls. However, sometimes the roadies will come to your seat if you're lucky, so just keep your eyes open for them. 4) Make concert shirts or posters. I personally had fun making my shirt, but it's one of the only ways that I've seen that you'll be noticed as a "true fan" by them. Put effort into it and be proud of it. 5) HAVE FUN! My next goal is to actually meet Coldplay. I get another chance tomorrow since I'll be in section 2 that time. I'd love to get upgraded to front row again, but at the same time, I think it's good to share with someone else who hasn't wants to experience Coldplay on the front row!

[9-Jul-2012] Coldplay @ Verizon Center, Washington, DC, USA
Well, this was my 4th overall Coldplay concert and 2nd Mylo Xyloto concert. I went to the 7/8/12 yesterday AND the 7/9/12 show today! I already posted about how yesterday I was lucky enough to get upgraded to front row seats for concert #42 but for this one tonight, I actually bought the most expensive tickets I could afford as soon as Coldplay released them to the public. I was sitting section 2 row V for this one. I actually ran into the roadie that upgraded me to the front row seats the other day. He introduced me to another roadie and I thanked him all over again. He was surprised to see me again for another concert. I think he would of upgraded me to front row tickets again but I told him that our seats were right behind the X stage on the floor. Turns out our friends though who had seats in section 109 however DID get upgraded to 2nd row seats on the floor! I basically walked them through what to do once they got into the Verizon center and it worked! I was very happy for them. The concert itself was AMAZING. Wolf Gang was wonderful.. I'm official a fan..you'll see why later in my review. Since this was my second time seeing them open for Coldplay, I was actually looking forward to all their songs. I also bought their CD from itunes as soon as I got home! Coldplay was even better than the first night. I felt like I was closer to Chris sitting behind the X than I was sitting front row, but both were great! It was nice seeing all songs they played on the X stage up close since I was far away by the front row when they went over there. But yeah, it just seemed like Coldplay put a little extra in this show considering they're on break afterwards! After the concert, my plan was to wait outside to possibly meet Coldplay. Sadly, that didn't happen. From what I heard, people were saying as soon as the concert was over, Coldplay darted out of the place. Some said they had a plane to catch that night to go home and rest.. others were thinking that they were just going to the hotel. Anywho, we waited around for at least 1hr 30mins to see if Coldplay would come out. Maybe next time! On the up side, we did run into the WOLF GANG while waiting outside for Coldplay. Those guys were so nice! Two of my friends in the picture I'm gonna post actually met them after they opened for Coldplay, and they still remembered one of their names haha. Max (lead singer) shook my hand and I told him that I'm a new fan of theirs. They were kind enough to take this picture with us! Overall, both concerts in D.C were amazing. My friends are finally seeing what I've always seen in Coldplay. Coldplay brought us all together for 2 nights. We all made concert shirts together and just hung out and had fun like the old days. Last but not least, one thing I REALLY WANTED TO DO was to get in a picture WITH Coldplay! Technically, I did tonight! I will never forget these nights!

[8-Jul-2012] Coldplay @ Verizon Center, Washington, DC, USA
You're right, any seat is a good one for Coldplay! I'm sure each show varies but I took a Canon Powershot Elph 300 and didn't get any real strange looks from the Event Staff. I wasn't even searched when I went into the concert. I just had to show them my ticket. So I'm sure getting your camera in shouldn't be too hard. I just hope they don't consider your camera a "professional one" for this events sake!

[9-Jul-2012] Coldplay @ Verizon Center, Washington, DC, USA
COME ON GUYS. The concert is a week away and our "DC" thread is pretty slow/empty! I don't know about you guys but I'm pretty pumped for the concert. This will be my third one and I'll be going both nights. After reading some posts from the Miami concert, it appears that if you wait around after the concert you might get lucky and get some stuff signed by the band! Depending on what it looks like, I may wait 45-1hr after the concert to see what happens. As many of us here would say, one of my dreams is To Meet coldplay! Also if any of you all want to meet up before the concert for food in the area or whatever let me know!

[29-Jun-2012] Coldplay @ American Airlines Arena, Miami, FL, USA
When I first read this I thought you said there was a meet and greet for Coldplay. I almost fell out of my chair lol. Your experience sounds so AWESOME!!! I bought my tickets for this concert all the way back in Dec 2011 and even though there were many months before the concert, it still felt like the concert was coming too soon because I knew once it was over, it would be over. No more Coldplay to look forward to :( So July 8th and 9th can take it's time so I can enjoy the idea of getting to see my favorite band once again! And I too shall meet them in person one day!

Amsterdam Piano Cover "mylovelycovers"
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FU0T9VSE5no]Coldplay - Amsterdam Piano Cover - YouTube[/ame] I know my tempo is a bit faster than the song. I had to play this song quite a few times to get it right enough to upload and it seemed like every time I replayed it, the faster the tempo ended up being  Enjoy!

Is the money and fame getting to Chris Martin's songwriting abilities??
I think everyone is giving good points. No one is wrong because you're just saying how you feel. Some people here are saying that Coldplays new stuff from mx lyrically isn't up to par. Others are saying that CP's older stuff also wasnt really all that great lyrically. For in my place for example, the lyrics aren't that deep but the tone of the song really moves me. It gives me a depressed but satisfying feeling, in a good way. I feel like I can really feel what Chris is saying. I like mx too, probably the first cp album since AROBTTH that I can listen to from start to finish without feeling tempted to skip certain songs. The difference with mx is I feel they are so happy in songs that it just feels cheesy to me. But they are in different places of their life now with kids and being married and all. Either way, I just will be one sad fellow when Coldplay stops making music. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=38.778272,-77.092412

I was about to say the same thing. I really loved their clothes from the AROBTTH and X&Y days. Simple but classy!

Sitting in section 2 July 9th! This is my 3rd Coldplay concert but first time with good seats on the floor. Really looking forward to it!

Coldplay nominated for 3 Grammy Awards // Paradise to feature on 2012 Grammy Nominees Album (pg.5)
I think you guys are giving Rihanna too much hate! I'm not a fan of her music, but she wasn't horrible. Anywho, PoC was alright but felt awkward to me. I was really hoping that Coldplay would perform Charlie Brown but as you all know, they went with Paradise. I don't like their live version of Paradise at all! To me it feels slow and dragged out. The album version is much better but I can respect Coldplay for wanting to actually play the music instead of using fake recordings. I just think that the string instruments really make Paradise what it is. I thought Chris' singing for Paradise was a bit sloppy but from what you guys were saying, he wasn't feeling well (hope he gets better!). Overall, I think Coldplay needs to take some time off to relax. They've been playing at a lot of shows. Back with AROBTH and even X&Y, Coldplay was a nice fit for the United States. Now however, I feel as if Coldplay has really outgrown the United States. By that, I mean a lot of their hard core fan base lives outside of the United States. I just think of Coldplay as more of a global band now. And I don't think that Coldplay gets enough respect here in the States either. Anyway, I'm SUPER PUMPED to see Coldplay for the 3rd time in July at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C!!! I hope they get plenty of rest before they come so they're totally relaxed and energized.

Are floor seats really worth it?!
Hi all, So I've gone to two Coldplay Concerts so far (X&Y and Viva La Vida Tours). For the XY tour my seats were super far back and high up. I really didn't even feel involved in the concert even though I was happy to be there. And then a few years later I went to the Viva La Vida tour concert with a few friends. Our seats where closer to the stage and still a bit high up but it felt like we were right on top of the stage. That experience was amazing. We were all screaming and singing along. So I made a promise to myself to buy floor seats the next time I go see Coldplay. I kept my promise to myself and I'll be sitting in section 2 on the floor when they come to Washington D.C! I have a few concerns though. First, is it hard to see the band when you're on the floor? I'm about 5'9 but I'd assume everyone will stand for the whole concert and it would be a bummer if I couldn't see. Thanks for your input guys! I'll attach a picture of the floor chart of the venue I'll be at. http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/3733/41397sa.gif' alt='41397sa.gif'> Uploaded with ImageShack.us[/img]

[8-Jul-2012] Coldplay @ Verizon Center, Washington, DC, USA
Since I didn't have an American Express card, I had to wait till this morning at 10am with everyone else to try to get tickets. Since this is my 3rd Coldplay concert I'm attending I wanted to get the best seats available that my budget could allow. I tried getting VIP Tour Floor seats for 2 on the 8th but I believe they were all sold out because it wasn't allowing me to do that. Fortunately Coldplay added July 9th (the next day) as an option so I was able to get the seats I want (Section 2!!!!) and the price wasn't as high as I expected. Even though the concert is a bit ways away I'm excited as if its next weekend!!!!
