Post pictures of your eye (s)
^ Nice :wacky: I also have central heterochromia, but mine are blue with green centres. That's a really good picture too, what did you use? I only have a crappy phone camera so here's a really rubbish picture that doesn't show off the different colours at all :(

Describe The Evolution Of Your Music Taste
Mine is kind of an interesting story I guess. I wasn't interested in music at all until about 2009, when someone (probably my dad) bought me an ipod for my birthday. Before then the only music I'd heard was what was on the radio, stuff my mum played in the car (usually random old mixtapes) and a few of my mum's random CDs that we had at home (stuff like Shania Twain, Natasha Beddingfield and other cheesy rubbish). My parents had been separated for a few years so I never really heard any of the music that my dad was into, and when I went to see him he often mentioned bands like Pink Floyd and Radiohead but I never really had any means to listen to them. When I got my ipod I was 14 and I guess most people had already sort of developed a music taste by then, but I had no idea what I wanted to listen to. I basically borrowed a few CDs from my dad and brother from bands that I'd heard of including Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Kings of Leon, Blur and Stereophonics. I basically listened to nothing but this small collection of bands for a while, mainly because they were 'cool' among the people that I was friends with at the time. I may have first listened to Radiohead during this time period too, but decided they weren't for me at that point. Eventually in 2011 when I was 16 I started actively following bands and getting interested in live music, and went to my first gig (which was KoL in Hyde Park) and also started following what Coldplay were doing. At some point that year I stumbled upon Coldplaying and found a community of music-loving people that helped me discover some more bands, such as Muse and U2. I got quite into Muse at this point, and also around this time I tried listening to Radiohead again and their music appealed to me a lot more than before. In 2012 I joined the Muse board (the horror!) and similar to when I joined Coldplaying I discovered that there was a big community of music fans there who liked the same sorts of bands. I started checking out some of these bands, mainly those who had influenced Muse such as Deftones, Nirvana, SOAD and RATM. My music taste started to shift towards heavier stuff. This continued into 2013 as I discovered bands like Biffy Clyro and QOTSA as well as starting to discover more underground bands like Arcane Roots and ASIWYFA. Later in 2013 I went to uni and made some friends who shared a similar music taste and since then we've basically been discovering music together and listening to the same sort of stuff. They introduced me to Frank Turner, a folk/punk/rock/singer/songwriter who's a brilliant lyricist and generally a cool guy. In the past year I've become more interested in instrumental music, with bands like ASIWYFA and 65daysofstatic being some of my favourites, and stuff that's kinda hard to fit into a particular genre other than being generally awesome like Oceansize, Enter Shikari and Amplifier. Recently I've been trying to check out more progressive bands like Pink Floyd and Porcupine Tree, and I expect this trend to continue in the future.

If anything on the new album is as good as Everybody's on the Run I'll be happy.

Radiohead
I remember when I first listened to Radiohead I didn't like them very much. The first album I listened to was The Bends and I just didn't like Thom's voice. Then I tried again about a year later and I guess my tastes had changed or I'd matured a bit or whatever and I tried OK Computer and instantly got hooked. It took me a while to appreciate more of their songs, and there are still a few songs that I just can't get into (Idioteque for example) but I'm glad I persevered. I'm not saying that they're for everyone, but I'm sure that most people can find at least one song that they like, their back catalogue is that diverse.

Another pretentious nostalgic thread made by someone who hasn't been on here in a while
I didn't even know what a coldplay was until about 2010. Then I started following the tour dates and album news and stuff in 2011 and somehow found this place. I don't even remember how I first came here, so maybe this is all a dream :worried:

The Snow Patrol Thread
Ahhh, SP are a band that I feel deserve more of my attention. I loooooove some of their songs (Run being my favourite) but I've never really properly got into them. Glad that there are going to be some gigs this year, I definitely want to see them live. Anyone have any idea what songs Gary played at his solo gig?

Enter Shikari - The Mindsweep
Didn't think there were any other fans here! My favourite album so far is Common Dreads, let's hope the new one is at least as good as that one. I'm loving The Last Garrison and NLGOTM.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
They've already announced the lineup now so it's definitely not true :P

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I haven't listened to it much but I think I like it. It reminds me of Lovers in Japan in a way. Also the "yeah yeah yeah" bit is like a better version of Ink. It's not exactly what I'd like from LP7 but it's a step in the right direction IMO. It certainly isn't one of their worse songs.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
My hope for LP7 is mainly for heavier/more exciting music. Ghost Stories was mostly quite a slow and quiet record and I respect that, but it's time for a louder and more energetic album. Also Ghost Stories seemed too much like a Chris Martin solo album for my liking. The rest of the band need to have much more prominence on the next one. My basic idea for what I want LP7 to sound like is the musical quality and intensity of AROBTTH with the energy and general positive vibe of MX.

2015 Upcoming Releases
Same here. I'm lucky in that most of my favourite bands/artists are releasing new albums this year, but even if they weren't I'd still be perfectly happy to keep finding new stuff.

What would you have as a superpower?
I've been thinking about this a lot recently, mainly trying to think of a power that would sort of combine several powers into one. Maybe that's cheating but at least it's not the power to take other people's powers. That would be cheating. Anyway what I decided on would be the power to turn into some sort of ghost or spirit version of yourself. Then you'd be able to float/fly, be invisible, go through walls, be invincible, and also possess other people's bodies if you wanted to. Those seem to be the main powers I find myself fantasising about, and I think that's a fairly logical way of being able to do all of them without 'cheating'. Time travel would also be a very useful one, but I think it would be too easy to change history and screw everything up.

Radiohead
I still haven't listened to Tomorrow's Modern Boxes. Also it seems like Radiohead are/have been recording new stuff recently so that's cool. Not that I don't like Thom's other projects, but I want a new Radiohead album/tour more than anything right now.

2014 Albums Worth Listening To
Pretty good. My expectations weren't too high, and of course it doesnt compare to The Joshua Tree or some of their other classics, but it has some great songs. Sent from my GT-I8160 using Tapatalk 2
