  1. Last thing I cried over was "Shawshank Redemption" last night. I'm such a secret sap. Last song which blew me away was "Drops of Jupiter" by Train last night. Coldplay blow me away regularly though. :D

I don't like Norah Jones much. Maybe it's because I'm in a more rock mood recently. I'll try her again in a few years. :D
  3. Is he 26 or is my maths a problem which should be sorted? :D
  4. Wow it's sticky. Good call. :P
  5. Me too. His speech at the brits was kinda pathetic, and disappointing. "We'll all die if Bush gets his way..."? WTF? I buy fair trade coffee though. Nothing to do with Chris Martin, honest.

I can't watch the videos with anyone in the room in case I cry. I hate crying if other people see me. :D Like "Yellow" today.... damm that song always gets me. So I shall watch Clocks alone... if it ever comes on the bloody TV.
  7. Mine too! :D Did you hear him talking about how "the beats" came to him? "Up from above Martin...." :o :o "You become the drums... the bass.. the guitar, the violin..." Woah....
  8. Avril Lavigne... what a pseudo-bitch. :P Norah Jones definitely. And Coldplay of course. I don't know any of the others. Completely random thought - I saw "Yellow" on MTV today. I haven't seen the video in ages. I love the video. :D

A recent survey in London showed that 45% of the public believe that Sadam is a threat to world peace. Another 45% also believed that Bush is a threat to world peace. He's a war monger. I think that just about sums up my whole feeling about this issue. :D

I have a phobia of hugs.... :o Welcome. You'll fit in just fine, me thinks. Heh-heh-hahr.....
  11. Listened to this fantastic album again today... I am obsessed. :D I love "Everything's Not Lost", especially when he starts going all "Hey Jude" Beatles on yer with "oh oh yeah". Great stuff.
  12. Yep, he's a bloody weirdo. One thing I did get out of the documentary though was a reminder of how fantastic his music is. :D He needs locking up though....
  13. LOL! That's hilarious... :P I wonder if he'll ever say Birkenhead? Hmmmm....
  14. What are your other faves? :D (looks in bewilderment as my joni thread turns into the tom and laura show) :o :o :-D
  15. LOL! Not a huge fan. I did have the first series on video but alas I had to sell them as I was strapped for cash. :( I just think it's bloody hilarious. :D I was obsessed with the X-Files for a while too... let's not go down that avenue. :P I take it you love the show too?
  16. I haven't a shoe fetish, honestly. :D I was watching an episode of SATC, and Carrie's log-in name was shoegal, so I though it would be cool to be shoelad. Already the lustre of it is fading... :( :D Quite sad, actually. Both Sides Now is brilliant....
  17. Charlotte annoys me too. Although I'm seeing her in a new light after her new hairy-backed boyfriend. They're good together. :D
  18. Why thank you Laura. :D "River"..... god, how fantastic. Beautiful lyrics, beautiful voice... it just all comes together to make this great track. God.. it sends me to tears sometimes, which I guess is the point of it. :P "Down to You" and "The Circle Game" are a couple of my faves. Oh, and "Both Sides Now", but who doesn't like that one? :D
  19. Yikes, my first thread. Scary stuff. :o :D Anyway, I'm starting a shrine to Joni because she's great. I only recently discovered her - I heard "Woodstock" on the telly and instantly had to find out who it was. It has resulted in me buying albums of hers from anywhere and everywhere, which is often great because they're cheap. :P I don't like the whole 80's phase she went through though. I got "Dog Eat Dog" for Christmas and it's really bad. Oh, and who's that one who ripped off "Big Yellow Taxi"? Shame on them!
  20. Me too. :D They had a sex and the city night over here, with women who could "like, totally relate" to the characters. They all slated Miranda. Miranda ROCKS! She's my favourite, probably because of her jaded cynicism. ;)

I was talking to a friend who said that "Clocks" would be way better if it was just the music without Chris Martin. Since then I've listened to it completely different. Random, useless information spewing from my gob yet again. :D
  22. Aye... if they keep their heads above water and don't sell themselves out they could go on to do a lot of good albums. Or they could fall on their arses. :D Personally, I thought they could never have beaten the wonder that was "Parachutes", but they proved me wrong. I'd love them to go out on a high, but I don't think I could withstand the idea that I'd never hear a new coldplay album ever again.... :o :o :o
  23. Damm... aaah well, they'll show highlights somewhere. This would be a highlight, right?
  24. Yep, it's Tom. I feel at home already. :D "British quartet Coldplay have enjoyed a number of rushes this year with the phenomenal success of their sophomore effort, A Rush Of Blood To The Head. That strong effort garnered them two GRAMMY nominations this year — one for Best Alternative Album and one for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals ("In My Place" is the album's nominated track). At Saturday morning rehearsals, Coldplay showed just how big a sound they can make when they ran through their song "Politik" with the majestic, orchestral backing of the 86-piece New York Philharmonic, who were led by the baton of GRAMMY-winning composer/arranger Michael Kamen. The grand sound of this large-scale collaboration was entirely effective, and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin was all smiles at rehearsal's end. While the orchestra was on stage, they also rehearsed with conductor David Robinson their own bit of GRAMMY night performance spotlight — the "Mambo" section of Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story. The Philharmonic will also receive some extra GRAMMY week recognition: Saturday night the venerable organization will be honored by the Recording Academy with a 2003 Trustees Award." Had to post that. Sounds great.... does anyone know when the grammy's are on the telly? :?
  25. The actual coldplay in the flesh? Oooooh, I thought it'd just be the track playing with dodgy lighting affects. :D Hey... Laura isn't it? Sorry I'm crap with names.... :?
