  1. That seems to be nice!! Even the t-shirt is appropriate :D
  2. Xylophone or glockenspiel? We can't see so much behind that drum kit :D But in this video they're playing a xylophone (Paradise)... and that seems the sound of MX too! [ame= ] [/ame] yes, I think they don't use a glockenspiel.....
  3. I found in another thread this useful video ;) [ame= ] [/ame]
  4. !! I was looking for a video like this one as well  Thank you so much!

Ebbeh... Ciao!!
  6. Yes, that organ sounds so "Korgy"!! ;)
  7. Er... Er... don't you know what that "very rare rack module" is? :D

Cosa studi di bello? Dove?

  10. Well... Actually I don't think they ever used the acoustic piano sound. Even in the hammers hit the strings, if you don't put a mic over them they won't be heard! They use some VSTs, like NI Kontakt, that are played via MIDI by the piano keys, and on the stage they're played by some Muse Receptors :smug:
  11. Yes, I was going to say that

Kant? ... )
  13. Ciao!! I registered some days ago, and this isn't my first post, but I hope it's not too late for it :P Ok: today is my 17th birthday, I started playing the piano in february 2007, I like and play tennis (I love Murray's game) and I love the two-wheeled world, from MotoGP championship to urban bikes - I don't like off-road so much... The piano is my passion, but I love synthesizers too, and that brought me to like electronic music, even if my favourite bands are Genesis and Emerson, Lake & Palmer, followed by Pink Floyd, Depeche Mode, Yes, Rush... and Coldplay! I can't select some "favourite" Coldplay songs: I try to enjoy the albums in their completeness ;) I was at the 22/5/2012 Nice concert: wonderful, I can't describe the emotions and the thrills I sensed

Miei connazionali?!?! :D
  15. Wow!! That's something I was looking for! Thank you!! ;)
  16. Well... ... he actually tried, and has been a king, but now in the mornings he sleeps alone, and sweeps the streets he used to rule, so we don't have to fear so much! (he said "who would ever want to be king?!")
  17. Wow! Great work!! ;) ...I now understand we probably never heard the true GT-20 sound in any Coldplay album! :P
  18. Yes, I saw there are millions of infos about the other instruments, from Chris' mics to Jonny's picks, but anything about the synthesizers used in studio and the ones controlled by the keyboards on the stage (the GT-20 and the Korgs)!!! :stunned:
  19. I can't find anything about it on the net, I only noticed they use a Yamaha GT-20 and a pair of Korg Kontrol49 (a keyboard that I have!!!) Especially in the last albums with Brian Eno there are always some keyboard parts with stunning sounds... For example, in In My Place I think I hear the famous Korg's "Distortion organ" preset, and the "Fix You" organ is so similar to the GarageBand's clonewheel... The Viva la Vida keyboard sounds aren't familiar with me - I know Korgs wery well because they always have been my lead keyboards... but in Mylo Xyloto I can hear something that reminds me the OASYS or the Kronos... I have found some photos like this one with a Yamaha CS80 analog synthesizer ...but I think they mainly used modern workstations. What do you know about it, can anyone recognize which instruments have been used in their albums? Thank you soooooooooo much!:D
  20. Yes, the sounds of the "Coldpliano" are everything but natural: maybe they actually mixed the GT-20 with some piano VSTs, but I think they could have modified the actual piano sound too. If you put the microphones in a certain way and you re-equalize the result, you can reach an unnaturally bright sound like the one of Lovers in Japan. I think in the Coldplay songs they simply processed the piano, but someone else modifies the actual piano. You all know the sound of a "tack piano", obtained by putting on the hammers tacks like these [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRPF2Ux21yk]the result...[/ame] Since I can't find what keyboards/VSTs/racks Coldplay used and use now, these are only assumptions
  21. I was there too... unforgettable, surely the most joyful concert I ever seen. Roger Waters' current The Wall tour was great too, but you just didn't have fun as when you're seeing those thousands of Xylobands colouring the entire stadium, flashing with the Charlie Brown riff... :charlie1: The emotions were very strong: I'm not going to forget the explosive thrills when, in the dark, Chris shouted "Ok, here we go!!" and the Viva la Vida riff started, nor when the concert started with the amazing Mylo Xyloto introduction accompanied by fireworks (that would make Pink Floyd envious) that endured until the end of Hurts Like Heaven. Being in a stadium so cheerfully coloured, singing with Coldplay, I wont' forget all these things. Maybe the best concert I ever seen.
