i always thought it was easier to start on acoustic rather than electric - because its harder to play the strings on acoustic so when you go to electric the transition is easier? im also new at guitar so i may be wrong..

erm i hope you dont mind me posting this here but i figured its probably the best place... im learning to play guitar but when i look at the tab thing above each chord on PVG sheets - what does the curved line mean over the frets?

the x - means a 'double sharp' so for example if it was the note F with the x next to it you would go up 2 semitones rather than one. so one semitone up would be F sharp and then 2 semitones would be a G the natural symbols are just to tell you not to play the sharp or flat and just play the normal note. if they werent there then you would not know that it was natural hope that helps
