actually, that is exactly what i'm telling you. I suppose "conscious decision" was the wrong choice of words. I was simply stating that perhaps its not that people haven't heard of them, but rather that they choose not to mention them. I have misguided the topic, haven't I? With all that said, I am a huge fan of their Goldfly and Parachut albums. I did however find their latest release(from 2003) to be complete crap.

don't get me wrong, I am a fan of coldplay. But to have them at a higher number than The Smiths, The Cure, annnnd Roxy Music is a disgrace.

I highly suspect that people not knowing of them is not the case. It is probably more along the lines of making a conscious decision not to speak of the band. Anyone(esp America) who has a university in their city/town(which is everywhere) has without a doubt heard of them.
