  1. I'll play the guitar for you man. how would you like it
  2. i'm gonna go write a song for you man. it might be the worst thing ever, but we'll see
  3. You're a better man than I. I don't get into synthesis. I play acoustic guitar and sing then use auto tune haha
  4. Get a Martin Xseries if you don't want to lay down tons of dough. i'm telling you...they sound amazing. if you're recording, it has all the fullness and body of the more expensive Martins. the back and sides are made out of a high pressure laminate, which purists might say..."oh well it's not wood, therefore it's crap." Forget that. It's great. It's freaking better than wood. Cause unless you have a climate controlled room (humidity included), the all wood guitar is going to need extra special attention. Check out anything I've posted, including the Yellow thing I just put up. all recorded with an X-series, top is real spruce, rest is high pressure laminate. (HPL?). The electronics aren't the best i've ever had, but that's not why you have it. you have it for the actual sound it produces in a room. you can always upgrade the piezo pickup.
  5. that'd be pretty high skill maneuver wise. I used melodyne to sample the pitched drum part from oceans. Melodyne is great. I dunno about that great though. not yet at least.
  6. Here this is. I'm happy with it. it's a step and a half down as far as key. From Bmaj to Abmaj. More in my personal vocal range haha. https://soundcloud.com/cedmo013/yellow-instrumental-track
  7. This whole thing would probably be a lot easier if you happened to be an attractive girl haha
  8. i don't get it my friend. You'd like someone to write a song..for you? to you? on your behalf?
  9. I used two sampled pianos and blended them in Logic Pro X. MIDI triggers a sample of a note that's been recorded on a real piano by someone else who sells their thousands of samples that are recorded at various "velocities" and also recorded many times each to give a sense of realism as a "virtual instrument." same thing works with drum kits, string sections, etc. the only stuff I ever record myself is my voice, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, the occasional snaps, claps, or a wine glass and bass. everything else I need has been recorded some where else and i play it via a midi keyboard or drum pads.
  10. not with a microphone that's for sure. why?
  11. yeah. just sent it. let me know if it got to ya. cheers
  12. About to send it in like 3 min. Let me know if you got it and throw me a thanks haha
  13. Cool. Almost done with it
  14. How loud man? Or gal? I'm gonna send it like -5 dB. With a decent/nice piano sound
  15. Ok. It's gonna be accurate chord/voicing wise but not with a whole bunch of musical embellishments ok
  16. Gotcha. What do you need a WAV file? What bpm? Same key as recording? Where would it be sent?
  17. Yeah, by "I got it," I meant I worked it out for myself. I'm gonna have to dig through the archives of legal pads for it. Should be able to find it. I worked it out pretty well as I recall. Who knows if it's exactly spec for spec the way it was recorded but the chords and voicings sound good to me
  18. Man is that spot on or what?! Wow. I like playing that song on the acoustic with the same E-A-D-G-B-D# tuning as well. Works great
  19. Just google MIDI for it. It's out there. It's easy
  20. Yellow. a remixed version called "alpha remix" brilliant. can also hear chris' vocal so clearly. I don't think i even appreciated how amazing his vocal performance on the studio track of Yellow was. It's incredible[video=youtube;mz1u_lMgnog]
  21. [video=youtube;mz1u_lMgnog] THISSS
  22. what batman said.
  23. Johnny couldn't answer that one. Just grab your electric guitar and mess with whatever tone controls you have and amp sims you have til you get a good tone. If I remember off my head, it's just a kind of tweed sounding mono over driven tone. Haven't listened to the song in years though haha. So maybe I'm wrong.
  24. Davide Rossi is the guy who does their strings. And it actually looks like, according to Wikipedia at least, he didn't start arranging their strings til Viva. I could have sworn it was X&Y though. Just like eno wasn't officially involved til Viva, but he was around for X&Y
  25. One of their engineers makes evolving patches as well. A lot of the stuff they use, take the kind of sound design brian Eno contributes, you can't just buy it. It's as customized and unique to the band as the songs.
