  1. really? we're gonna go there? See, the difference between KOL and the White Stripes is that KOL isn't afraid to expand and evolve their sound. Unfortunately people dislike them now because they're gaining more fans and becoming more popular (which makes absolutely no sense). hm? you asked me "what do you expect", and I'm expecting that people are going unnecessarily gaga over this new white stripes spin off. So I'm assuming you agree with me that they're over hyped which is a problem and ridiculous because they're not as great as everyone is saying.
  2. well that's just the problem: Jack White can do NO wrong in a critic's eyes. It's astounding! I really can't see the appeal for the White Stripes... it's the same shite over and over. The Raconteurs had some potential, but they're pretty bland..... nothing special at all. Critics even ate up the 007 song Jack did with Alicia Keys. I thought that song was just trying way too hard, though it was better than Cornell's song for Casino Royale. Anyway, it seems that people are crapping their pants over this new band. I think it's just a lot of noise and garbage.
  3. fair argument, but I really don't like it when people compare "Pet Sounds" and "Sgt. Peppers". What the Beatles did on Sgt Peppers was so innovative and original; it cannot be compared. But going on that slippery slope argument, you could also say that without Revolver there would be no Pet Sounds
  4. Dead Weather = waaaaaaaay over-hyped!
  5. how are the Bee Gees even in this category? And this poll just reminds me of every single list that Rolling Stone mag always comes up with. If you must insist though, I'd have to say "A Day in the Life", because without it there would be no Bohemian Rhapsody or Stairway. But excluding the Beatles, since they should trump this list, I'd probably give these some honorable mentions: Baba O'Riley - The Who Layla - Derek and the Dominoes Johnny B Goode - Chuck Berry Walk This Way - Aerosmith Black Sabbath - War Pig Boston - Foreplay/Long Time U2 - Where the Streets Have No Name Elton John - Funeral For A Friend Mott the Hoople - All the Young Dudes Metallica - Master the Puppets Peter Frampton - Do You Feel Like We Do Phil Collins - In the Air Tonight ... and if we REALLY wanna stretch it, I always say that "Supper's Ready" by Genesis is the greatest song EVER written by a rock band.... pure masterpiece and genius!
  6.
