I will hold my judgement on whether or not I think it is my favourite Coldplay album until I hear it all, but I personally don't see it being album of the year (I assume you are talking about the Grammy's, Brits, etc.) I think it could definitely be nominated, at least for best Rock Album (which will make people angry, and I can't disagree) but there are just too many other albums we haven't heard yet. Arcade Fire I bet will be on the roster, Beyonce, Black Keys, Beck maybe Kanye or the Foo Fighters? Maybe it will get nominated for album of the year, but that is a tough category nowadays with such diverse albums getting thrown into the mix, some of them considered groundbreaking. I wouldn't call Ghost Stories groundbreaking and I would also call it low-key, which makes me think it may hang under the radar for awards. I do think that commercially and critically it will be pretty successful though, well, all their albums are.

Drumpad on every song? I wasn't expecting that. This album may be more electronic than we previously thought. Not that I have anything against drumpads, I think they offer up some awesome fresh sounds that Coldplay needs. That being said though, Will's drumming so far on all the live performances has been some his best we have ever seen! Hopefully we can hear all that speed and complexity on the studio versions.

Of the 9 songs on the album, we know the least about this one. It has only been played at the secret show whereas we have gotten a good listen on the others (True love is a close second behind this.) Earlier in the thread it is described as "Upbeat," but parachutes sounding, yet very catchy and with Chris on acoustic guitar. That, and the lyrics (which are dark as hell and similiarly goofy like Another's Arms imo) are all we know. So very mysterious indeed. The last great mystery!!! Other than the Target Bonus tracks that is! I second your questions though! Hope is has some strange sounds!

That sounds awesome, and no worries, I won't hold you to it. I think I know what you mean though, James Bond songs tend to be very dark sonically and very orchestral, which matches the lyrics and your description perfectly. I really look forward to this song now. Thanks for the description.

haha sorry, I didn't think that you were hating. AND YES He totally does those "ehs" all the time. Hilarious. Does the same noise in Apologise and Nelly Furtado's Say It Right!! Gotta give the guy credit though, he makes awesome productions for so many artists!

I can see the comparison. We Found Love is one of my favourite dance songs of the last few years, I actually like it more than ASFOS honestly (please don't hurt me.) They are obviously very different songs but they follow the same EDM tendencies. The piano, drumbeat, build and drop all sound very similar to me. Actually all EDM radio songs have an identical drum beat haha.

Timbaland works in a lot of different genres and Chris only said that he contributed a bass drum sound so that is very minimal in the grand scheme of things. I personally like a lot of the production Timbaland does and I doubt he will be hooting in the background like he does in Apologise. And why are we hating on Apologise? I don't like OneRepublic very much but that is a good tune that is NO DOUBT inspired by Coldplay. It has the piano, the falsetto, the pop sound. I am really looking forward to this song. The lyrics almost seem like they will hsave some kind of hip-hop inspired flow.

Same happened to me. I created an account and could only access his path "moment" via twitter but the audio wouldn't load. Either it has been taken down or Path is having technical issues. The Path twitter looks like it tweets about technical issues every other day, but I would bet that the songs never existed or they were taken down. Maybe he was just writing down the lyrics for fun and attaching them to the album cover with no audio.
