  1. Have heard: "A Wave" "One World" "Aeterna" And they don't seem to be much more than scribbles... "The Astronaut" is okay though...
  2. "Infinity Sign" is just pointless. I don't like "People Of The Pride". And "Biutyful" has that stupid voice. I understand revisionism is pointless. But I'd be happy with say 8 songs as good as the other six. That'd have made a good short but sweet album for me...
  3. Pretty underwhelmed by MOTS album... I somewhat admire at how Coldplay are fairly prolific, usually an album every couple of years but I suppose their albums are mostly not that long... but I think I'd prefer them to be making fewer and better albums... had to wait 5 years for Arcade Fire to reappear but it was worth it... If Moon Music is as good as MOTS, perhaps it's time to say cheerio and leave some good memories...
  4. To think coldplay should quit now whilst they haven't lost the plot artistically totally... I still think the latest album is a bit below part, but i have don't have much faith what is coming next will be better,,, and similarly u2, rolling stones... still put on a good show but do we need a new album? probably not...
  5. I wonder if maybe they should finish after this one. It's not terrible. But better to leave before you suck...
  6. I thought it was supposed to end with AHFOD, I am sure they said on it Radio 1. I don't think it is a bad thing knowing when to stop. Don't think U2 have been much cop in the last 20 years. I find MOTS a bit below par... although it has a few good songs.
  7. As an album, it has really grown on me though... double album syndrome, too much to listen too...
  8. I think it'd been just as good as an album without WOTW/POTP, Bani Adam, Cry Cry Cry, When I Need A Friend...
  9. I don't think it is their best album... but credit to them for not repeating themselves... and trying new things...
  10. Time to knock it on the head. boys?
  11. Some really good songs... but it doesn't hold together that well... 6 good songs Higher Power Humankind Let Somebody Go Human Heart My Universe Coloratura I'd want 9+ good songs...
  12. Some really nice songs... but sounds a bit patchy as an album... kinda spread too thin... not like VLV when they were jamming the songs in every corner... a pretty pointless penultimate instrumental song and the squirrel voice back again on 'biutyful'...
  13. I like it... in fact I like all the new songs...
  14. division bell-era pink floyd and also
  15. It's funny. I really like their music, but I am not sure I particularly have this huge appetite for another LP. They've made a double album which all proper artists should do, I think... and there's plenty of back catalogue to enjoy...
  16. Have given Higher Power a fair few listens and think it's okay but then giving a few older albums a spin after... I prefer earlier material...
  17. Could stick Lukas on there too...
  18. Am not such a fan of "Everyday LIfe" as some of the other Coldplay LPs but it's still a distinctive and interesting record and not just a re-tread. If we only get 9 LPs out Coldplay, that's still good going. I don't think "Higher Power" is the best thing they've done - maybe a bit worrying it is their 1st single from a projected album (often the best thing on an lp) but it is not below par. Just need to put "Moses" on it and another decent 8 tunes. Coldplay do seem capable of self-editing. Most of their albums aren't too long and are 10 or 11 songs. Is #9 definitely called 'Music Of The Spheres' and is this a reference to the globe on the piano and on the debut album cover?
  19. I somewhat hope Coldplay don't continue forever... sorta like The Rolling Stones... I really like them too, but albums from them have mostly seem to have been an excuse for touring since about 1980. And that Coldplay only continue as a creative force.
  20. There's tunes I can understand not making the album - Rainy Day is a lot of fun, but not a good fit for Viva La Vida. And I doubt they'd put out anything on an album proper that has already had a studio release. "Moses" however is top drawer stuff...
  21. Could sprinkle some 2021 magic dust on it...
  22. They probably wouldn't do this. And Coldplay are brilliant at sticking great tunes out on b-sides and eps and things, but I always felt this was such a great tune and deserved to be on an album. Radiohead's last LP had a few not too new tunes on it.
  23. Think it's pretty good. Not sure about the video though, sounds like a night-time song. Sometimes bands do a 2nd video for a song. Why they just decided to film in a random car park? If they'd just made the same video at night, it'd been better. Also I've noticed they've started to look a little older... Definitely an 80s vibe...
  24. Sunrise Arabesque Orphans Guns Eko Champions Of The World Daddy Flags BrokEn Everyday Life Could make maybe a pretty strong album - may want to tinker with the order a bit.
