  1. I love how people are just choosing to ignore the mods and filling up the thread with PM requests. Dudes... Read up. Anyway, @MancakesTheBand Great find!!! Looks like some of these songs might be potential Viva-era songs that didn't make the album. I'm all for that. A lot of bands use unreleased material from previous eras and re-work them.
  2. Sorry guys I know i'm late to the party.... But when you live in Australia, you tend to always sleep through this stuff. Apologies for this mods, I know you're trying to keep this contained, but is there anywhere in particular i'd be able to find these snippets? I know people are talking about napping and missing it, in Sydney we literally slept through it haha.
  3. I'm wondering if something will come out today (22nd). It's a month out from the official release, surely we'll get a taste of the album soon. Now is as good a time as any.
  4. I've never quite understood this idea that people don't think something is "very Coldplay". We're talking about a band that has consistently re-invented themselves and continues to strive to release something new. And in reference to "Daddy"... I can see this one being somewhat of a lullaby. And Ode to his children... Almost like a song from their perspective. Which i'm all for.
  5. Politik was the best opener of any concert i've seen from any band. Here's hoping it makes a return.
  6. Well.... Everybody has been banging on about this album being "experimental". So maybe the fact that it's "not their style" alludes to that.
  7. Yep, a double album is one release. Two CDs in the same package. If this is legitimate..... How excitiiiinnnggg!!!
  8. I absolutely think that the upcoming album/s has something to do with the Solar Eclipse. The fact that there's an astronomer in the poster that aligns with the 1919 eclipse and the artwork on their website, it's starting to make a little more sense that it would go that way... The 22 November, 1919 thing could be the basis of the concept. It could also mean the album is going to drop on the 22nd, at 7:19pm? There's a solar eclipse happening next year on the 14th December in Patagonia. If there is a second album coming, perhaps that album will drop right as the solar eclipse occurs.
  9. The Oldplayers are out in force today.
  10. Oh my god, some people can be so narrow minded. Stop ruling this out as crap when you've only heard a few seconds. And why are people calling it a 'pop' track. Do you understand the concept of pop? How can a track be popular music when it's not even released to the world yet. Open your minds friends! Listen to those trumpets!! And the amazing harmonies from Beyonce, she sounds so great!! Coldplay isn't just about drums and guitar lines and melancholy. They're evolving. Embrace it!
  11. What Vinny said up there about those background synths breaking off onto their own for a short while got me thinking, maybe those synths or Johnny's guitar riff in that song will be the musical theme of the album that they revisit from time to time? The snippet has a very apparent Indian influence, and from what we've seen so far, particularly with the album artwork, this album seems to be very influenced by Indian culture as a whole. - Think about it for a second, on Ghost Stories it was the introduction ambience on AIMH, which was revisited and developed as a secret track on O. - On MX the Mylo Xyloto intro theme was revisited on A Hopeful Transmission and the chord structure of the theme could be heard throughout the album in patches, particularly at the end of U.F.O with the guitar chords. - On Viva La Vida the Life in Technicolor theme was revisited at the end of Death and All His Friend's secret track The Escapist. Coldplay are pretty big on musical theme ideas it would seem, so maybe this guitar riff or synth pattern will be the theme for AHFOD? If not this song though, I can't want to here what the theme will be!! Or perhaps there won't even be one. Who knows.
  12. If anyone manages to hold out on the temptation of listening to the single before the album in its entirety, you deserve a nobel prize in human brain advancement.
  13. If I could just say one thing, and apologies if it has already been said a number of times... It is really, really nice that we're so close to another album just a year since the last release. Rather than our usual 3 year wait. Happiest of times!
  14. If this tracklist is legitimate then I am loving the unique song titles, but as most people have said i'm calling bull. In relation to the single release, i'm really hoping it's this Friday, because i'm starting to think that December 4 might be the single release instead of the album release. I know Beyonce just dropped her self titled album out of nowhere and there was no time for promotion or hype, which worked well and had a great message behind it.. But think about it, it's a month today until December 4, there's been no news of pre-orders for the album which is usually well over a month. Either the 4th is the single release, or Coldplay are doing a bit of a Beyonce and going, hey, here's an album. Enjoy. But because we're Coldplay... we have to get a bit cryptic and tease :P

Me too please if possible! :) Legend.
  16. Hey guys! The excitement of Ghost Stories is getting a bit too ridiculous, so... i've decided to join this forum (long time reader) it's a genuine pleasure to be amongst possibly the best people in the world, Coldplayers. I'll be up for a while, it's only 10 past 3 here in Australia. Let's see how this unfolds.
