TALK VIDEO - WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Don't patronise. Crius - I perfectly understand the concept of this video. I am able to 'get' that. I know it's also trying to be rather tongue-in-cheek but, nah, it just comes across as a total joke - not in a good way. It basically stunts the song. *shrug* There's nothing wrong with admitting you don't like it - I happen to think it's the worst video they've come up with so far.

TALK VIDEO - WHAT DO YOU THINK?
LAME The video is a pile of crap. I'm really disappointed with it! I thought Anton Corbijn would come up with something better than a lame, space themed promo - it totally ruins the song. I was sitting there thinking about The Clangers! They could have done something great with it but it's actually the worst CP video I've ever seen. I know it was intending on being ironic but it doesn't work!! The song deserves better.

MARTIN ENLISTS PALTROW'S VOCALS
contactmusic.com are completely unreliable. So just throw that article in bin B for Bullshit.

and the 3rd single is...
Talk was always going to be a single. It's cracking live too.

What does everyone think of the Fix You b sides?
I have to say, I agree with you. I think it's a case of being lazy with their choices for b-sides this time around. They've set such a high standard with their previous ones but these are very disappointing. The video saves them on this occasion... just.

Why doesn't CP play "A Message" at the concerts??
Setlists are flexible things y'know. It might appear sooner than you think :)

coldplay gigs in uk??
Heh. Ah yes ;) Some fine detective work there...

coldplay gigs in uk??
getmetickets.net are total scammers and therefore those UK dates are most likely false. I have been hearing that two dates at Earls Court in December (17th and 18th) is the more probable announcement. And then they'll confirm a proper UK tour next year.

It looks like they are scared about their releases
Well they had to be there so that they could show the gig on the big screens. Large venues have to have that because people at the back wont be able to see anything. Yeah I know. But so many people have mentioned that footage could be used for a DVD. There is no reason why not. But anyway, I think the answer to Dejan's question is: Be patient. A DVD (but just ONE!) will appear at some point. Good things come to those who wait. It's far to early to expect anything yet, there's so much more touring to do!

It looks like they are scared about their releases
Well.....they could release a live album of the firts leg without a problem but i can't understand why they don't want it. Because releasing such a thing now would be pointless! They've already recorded a lot of footage on this tour and will be putting together the best DVD they can possibly offer the fans. These things don't happen overnight. With a little patience, we will eventually be able to buy something packed with detail - rather than a quick release which would no doubt be labelled as ' a scam'. Honestly, they would get more complaints if they did the latter. How do you know they've already recorded a lot of footage from this tour ? And by the way.....there's nothing wrong if they release a dvd about a show in a venue like in the one for Muchmusic in toronto for example. Er, because we've seen cameras at various gigs. Crystal Palace for example.

coldplay live in the uk
Actually, from what I've been hearing, they will play at least one more UK date on this tour. It's anyone's guess whether they'll opt for another stadium gig or somewhere like Earls Court though.

Why backing tracks?
Yes, but you DO hear one! Their bassplayer is in the laptop. I think Coldplay use the backing tracks for some additional synthesizer instrumentation. Guy can't possibly play synthesizer and bass at the same time so they either have to take away the synths or play them from a backing tape. The backing track is just used for additional instruments, every instrument you see on the stage is playing played live and is not recorded on the backing track i think. Yep, that's exactly it. And I personally don't have a problem with that. Unless Guy grows another pair of hands, they don't have much choice! ;) As for Keane - it's all down to the magic laptop... it does restrict their show a little (they can't be spontaneous) but again, I've never had a problem with the sound at their live shows or felt cheated in any way.

Madrid/Barcalona
The venue is one of the biggest in the city, I think it's the 2nd, after the Camp Nou. I guess the capacity is around 15.000 people, which it's amazing for a Coldplay gig here!! :o Guess I'll have to get there early and queue for a good spot then! ;)
-
Why backing tracks?
The set-up for TV appearances is going to be very different than on tour though isn't it!?

Madrid/Barcalona
I'm going to be flying over for the Barcelona gig. Can someone post some info about the venue plz? :)

Does anybody here ever cringe at Chris Martin's speeches?
- "Talk" Live
I heard 'Talk' live at Crystal Palace (28th - album version) and it was complete and utter magic! I do like the orginal but the album version is better still, especially when it really kicks off during the last 2 minutes. Stunning work from Will and Jonny  And the use of the original chorus at the end is inspired. This song was certainly a highlight of the evening!- A Message
I really like A Message. I'd much rather hear it played on tour instead of Til Kingdom Come.- crystal crap palace 28 june 2005
Re: crystal crap palace 28 june I've only just seen these comments. You sound like an arrogant pr*ck to be honest. What do you expect people to do when you blantantly barge in where other people have patiently waited for hours? Applaud you? There were a lot of late comers pushing in once Coldplay's set got under way and I think it's bloody rude. Yeah we all paid but that doesn't suddenly give you (or anyone else) the God given right to do what you want. Rant over - Coldplay - Headliners 10:50
