July 6, 200422 yr To compliment the "best covers" thread. :D Great songs ruined: Death Cab For Cutie - "All is Full of Love" (Bjork) The Vines - "I'm Only Sleeping" (The Beatles) Every damn person ever (the 9/11 tribute thing) - "What's Going On" (Marvin Gaye) 311 - "Love Song" (The Cure) Radiohead - "Rhinestone Cowboy" (Glen Campbell) The Beach Boys - "I Was Made to Love Her" (Stevie Wonder) Songs that sucked the first time around: Smashmouth: "I'm a Believer" (The Monkees) :D
July 6, 200422 yr Author Oy. Oasis playing "I am the Walrus" is such a terrible idea. You'd think they would have had the good sense to realize that the only possible outcome of that would be a train wreck of music. Then again, Oasis have never really been known for their smarts or common sense. ;)
July 6, 200422 yr yea that is about right. haha. Liam and Noel are kind of not right in the head... Especially Liam, you just want to smack him in the head after hearing him in an interview. And I can't understand a word Noel Gallagher says. On The Edge, I remember, there was this contest where they would play some words Noel Galagher said in an interview and then there would be someone syaing "WHAT THE HELL IS NOEL GALLAGHER SAYING, find out and get two free tickets to Edgefest!" haha
July 6, 200422 yr Out of Your Mouth -- Music (Madonna) The Ataris -- Boys of Summer (Don Henley ? ) U2 -- Paint It Black (Rolling Stones) Vanessa Carlton -- Paint It Black (RS) They should grant licenses to sing the last song so the artists don't screw it up. U2 are a great band, but Bono's voice didn't suit the song and it all sounded messy.
July 6, 200422 yr Well, I actually like their cover of I Am The Walrus... but then, I actually like Oasis so there you go. And I'm not surprised people from America (or Canada, as is the case) can't understand a word Noel is saying, because he's from Manchester. Over here on this side of the pond, it's perfectly easy to understand every single word. anyway, worst covers: Limp Bizkit - Behind Blue Eyes (originally The Who) Moby - Creep (originally Radiohead) Jamie Cullum - Lover, You Should've Come Over (originally Jeff Buckley)
July 6, 200422 yr I thought Limp Bizkit did a good cover of that. Fred Durst did a good job on it. It would have been a bad cover if he sounded like Limp Bizkit usually sound, while doing it.
July 7, 200422 yr yea, i agree with ryan. I am the walrus is a great cover. But yea, back to the topic, the worst cover ever. hmm.. good charlotte - acquiesce. bad, REALLY bad cover.
July 7, 200422 yr good charlotte - acquiesce. bad, REALLY bad cover. oh, what a truly horrible cover that is. can't believe i forgot that one.
July 7, 200422 yr 311 sucks gah their cover of love song good grief Ew, I know! That was on the 50 First Dates soundtrack. I listened to it and then promptly deleted it off my computer. :smug:
July 7, 200422 yr it's good. Yea U2 doin a cover of Paint It Black doesn't really do it for me either. oh yea, labell, I love that song "Vindicated" in your signature!
July 7, 200422 yr Author Yeah, that's a pretty bad one. I'm not a fan of Don Henley, but good Lord... the Ataris sure do know how to annoy me.
July 7, 200422 yr Oasis - I Am The Walrus Agrees ! And also their cover for Heroes (David Bowie) My list goes on with any cover that Guns 'n' Roses did. Live and let die, Sympathy for the Devil, Since I don´t have you... ARGH !
