GWYNETH Paltrow and Chris Martin's fairytale marriage is in deep trouble, say friends.

Insiders reckon they are going through "an incredibly rough patch" after a series of furious rows.

Rock star Chris, 27, has had problems with his band Coldplay's overdue third album - while Oscar-winning Gwyneth has been left home alone with their eight-month-old daughter Apple.

A pal said last night: "Adjusting to married life, then being parents and now trying to sort out their professional lives has been a lot more difficult and complicated than either of them imagined."

The golden couple wed just 14 months ago after meeting backstage at a Coldplay concert in 2002 - but already the cracks seem to be showing.

Their differences boiled over in public two weeks ago as they queued for a dinner table in New York.

Gwyneth, 32, stormed out of Next Door at Nobu - which doesn't take reservations - to wait in their car.

But Chris was determined to stay until a table came free. A source said: "The argument began about the table, but turned into more personal things." The couple have been desperate to keep their professional and domestic life separate.

Gwyneth described their love as "so sacred I feel talking about it is just wrong, in every bone in my body".

She and Chris regularly divide their time between New York and London, where they own a £3.2million house in Belsize Park.

But to add to their problems, they will be living and working apart over the next few weeks.

Chris - under growing pressure to produce a third best-selling album after EMI share prices tumbled at the news of a delay - will be in a London recording studio.

And Gwyneth will be in Los Angeles to start shooting her latest movie, Running With Scissors.

Gah! I wish the media would take their noses out of peoples relationship problems!

But if its true, its really sad. Even though I wish I was married to Chris, I still feel genuinely sad for them...

I'm really hoping this is not true... it would indeed be very sad..

the Press always over-dramatize everything. I mean how many times have we heard that Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey are splitting only to found out its complete BS

naaahhh...this is not true....is a fucking fake!

is just publicity...Coldplay is coming!...and that´s it! :smug:

dont worry guys...with the love they carry for each other...nothin and no one will break them up, not even them selves ;) :D

i dont trust in daily mirror

i don't think it's true
