I picked up their cd awhile ago.. but never really listened to it til recently..... they're pretty impressive for a 3 piece band.. and quite different... anyone else fancy these guys??

The song 'Now Here Is Nowhere' is absolutely brilliant. I have the one track promo for it. And I've downloaded the first two songs off the album, and they're both pretty good.

 

They sound a bit like B.R.M.C to me, with a bit of Cooper Temple Clause in places

I saw them when they opened for Interpol. I wasn't too impressed. A lot of their songs were so drawn out, I was getting frustrated. Maybe it's because I wanted Interpol on stage.

I can totally understand that too!!! But the long drawn out intro is what initially deterred me away from the cd when I first got it... but since then... I added it onto my iPod.. so a few tracks occassionally pop up during the shuffle.. and they arent too bad.. I hope they get a bit more exposure... they must've shown potential to be chosen to open for Interpol... :cool:

Yeah, i'm pretty sure that one of their songs was like 7 minutes of them just "jamming". Usually, i'd be all for that, but I wasn't feeling it with them. I was just like, "omg, my legs are getting tired, I need to sit down..this song's taking too long to finish". :lol:

^haha! thats exactly how I felt when I had to sit/stand thru the Zutons when I went to Muse... and Keane!! :laugh3:

I saw them opener for Interpol, they were one of the worst openers ever. Watching them, I felt that I should be intrigued and impressed by their musician-ship, but their songs left me blind (from all the crazy lights they used, I was up front) and bored (their songs were too repetitive and long).

i totally agree. they have like seven 5 minute songs, it sucked! their last song was alright, just because it was their popular one. but i just thought they were TOO LOUD in general!

The Secret Machines' new album has just been leaked. Has anybody else here heard it?

 

I think it's really good. It sounds different than their other albums, but there's still their signature sound.

their best song is the cover of the bob dylan song girl from the north country
