Portishead's Geoff Barrow has taken to Twitter to set out a number of rules for the band's next album.

Barrow posted six tweets outlining his desires for how the follow-up to 2008's 'Third' should be released, utilising his caps lock key for extra emphasis.

He wrote: "There will be NO free downloads. There will be NO bonus tracks. There will be NO remixes. There will be NO hidden footage."

Barrow didn't stop there, outlining further that he wasn't too bothered about coming up with a substantial marketing plan for the record.

"There will be NO additional content," he wrote. "There will be NO corporate partners. There will be NO fashion lines. There will be NO tabloid pictures. There will be NO £25 unit cost. There will be NO street team. There will be NO MySpace. There will be NO celeb producer. There will be NO Twitter. There will be NO press/blogger gig. There will be NO acoustic session. There will be NO meet and greet. There will be NO edited version. There will be NO iTunes-only. There will be NO press launch. There will be NO Asian version. There will be NO radio friendly."

In conclusion, Barrow wrote: "Just music and us."

Portishead is the closest to sex you can be without actually having it.

Can't wait to finally see them live! :dance: :bomb:

I failed at finding setlists from the past festivals but I hope it'll be a greatest hits set. :shy:

I discovered them at the same time than Coldplay, during the same trip.

We were so hooked on the music that we didn't listen to anything else than 3 Portishead albums and AROBTTH from home all the way to Cannes and back. :uhoh:

Portishead are coming out to Aus later in the year! All my friends are super excited about it... but I've never listened to them :uhoh:

Suggestions on where to start?

"Dummy" and "Portishead" in full isn't helping you, eh? :lol:

So here's a start:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxsopQLZpCI]YouTube - ‪Portishead - Glory Box‬‏[/ame]

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqhPbXTjcVA]YouTube - ‪Portishead All mine subtitulos español‬‏[/ame]

Oh my, this is hard to choose. :bomb:

But I'd really really really suggest you get the albums, lie down somewhere comfortably and put it on in full volume and let the music take you on the journey... :heart:

Portishead's Geoff Barrow: 'Coldplay's fireworks ruin festivals'

Portishead's Geoff Barrow: 'Coldplay's fireworks ruin festivals'

Producer/musician also slams Bruno Mars in festival rant

Portishead's Geoff Barrow has hit out at Coldplay and the "fucking fireworks" they let off during their live appearances. Asked by Pitchfork what his least favourite thing about playing a European festival was, Barrow replied: "Playing next to Coldplay, with their water cannons or fucking fireworks or whatever the fuck it is. Come on."

Portishead played before Coldplay at Rock Werchter in Belgium earlier this month (July 2) and then occupied the same slot at Main Square Festival in Arras, France the following evening (3).

Barrow also singled out Bruno Mars for criticism, arguing that Portishead should not be appearing on the same bill as the 'Grenade' singer.

Barrow said: You just go, 'How the fuck did we get on the same bill as him?' And then you realise that if you're playing the same bill as those people, then it's the right festival for them and the wrong festival for you. You should move. It's not them.

Portishead are due to play at the second night of their All Tomorrow's Parties offshoot I'll Be Your Mirror tonight (July 24). Beach House, Grinderman, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Swans are among the other bands on the bill, which Portishead curated. The events are named 'I'll Be Your Mirror' after the B-side to The Velvet Underground's song from which All Tomorrow's Parties takes its name.

The festival will also take place in the US Astbury Park in New Jersey on October 1 and 2, before Portishead play a dozen dates across North America.

What I find funny is how they go to bash Coldplay but proceed to go and praise Arcade Fire. Especially during this Suburbs tour, they're really showing their douchey side (shutting off someone's camera, unfair tour, telling people that attend multiple shows to move back...)
