Yeah, my parents separated over the summer. Their marriage was never really rock solid but whatever. I'm a little iffy about the whole marriage dealy.

When my parents got separated, I felt that it was meant to be, it was a long time coming. My dad has...problems. I was hoping they would get separated to be honest.

 

As for me, I've been with my boyfriend for almost 3 years now, and we've been living together for about 1.5 years. It's almost like we are married.... so there is no need to get married.

yeah, the last couple of years, I don't think my parents had one civil conversation with each other. they lived completely separate lives and it really showed.

I'm actually really glad to see you say that. I'm happy that there's still someone out there who believes that marriage is great. Some people I know think that if they can get married, they can just divorce if it doesn't work out, which they can, but the emotional aftermath is so much greater.
