I dont think you need an Olympic Stadium persay to host the games... One was built for the Atlanta games (1996) here in the States as well as in Los Angels back in 1984. :)

Spain had one only 13 years ago. Too recent.

that doesnt mean anything... Atlanta played host in 1996...

and your 'too recent' comment made no sense... it not based on 'how recent' they were hosted at a certain venue... its just who has the better capabilites to put on a great ceremony..

i sincerely think that is better a place near the sea, because some sports are on the water... and madrid no have a sea it have a river but not a sea... so may be that's why we didn't win... :idea2:

It has a lot to do with "how recent". America won't get it again for a while if there are enough others who are able to stage it. Some people even said France might get it as London had had one SINCE France had.

even so.... from 1996 to 2012... thats 16 years!!! AND when we hosted in 1984.. we got it in 1996.. so how does your theory ring true?

Because there weren't enough countries capable of staging it cost-wise at the time, and everyone knows the result was a bit...................dodgy...............

America just got the 2002 Winter Games in SAlt Lake City. Europe deserved a Summer Games. I'm glad with London although I was rooting for NYC.

There was a lot of stuff that came out after 1996 to say that delegates had been "bribed" etc. It's been tightened up since then.

They should organise it like the World Cup. Different continent every four years at least.

America hosting the World Cup would be a travesty... however you'd be surprised how many true football (footie) fans there are here.... I would go!

The 1994 World Cup was very successful in the States. But you'll have to wait a while before the next one................................

America got it in '94 and it was pretty sweet. :D

hey you!! I know.. but people here shitted about it.. I think the only ones interested were those from S.America (my family) and Europeans... :embarrased:

Well, i grew up playing soccer so I've always loved it. Guess that's why I thought it was so great here in '94.
