Chris Martin solo album ?

Featured Replies

What do y'all think about a Chris Martin solo album with just songs similar to "Everything not lost", "See You Soon","Amsterdam" ?

What?

A SOLO album? What the hell? :o :dizzy2: thinking.gif

I like Coldplay just the way they are, .... so no I don't think Chris should make a solo album.

Niether do I.....Chris doing a Solo album? That's just..........strange.........why have a solo album when he's got a great band?

they're too great of friends to do somthin like that

I agree.

he's the singer of the band anyway... so there's no need doing a solo album.

I was freaked out a couple of months ago when my musically clueless cousin said that he had thought that Speed of Sound was Chris going solo. :o The thought had never crossed my mind before.

I was very relieved when I saw Chris and Jonny talk about this in the Muchmusic broadcast of the Toronto concert, right at the start of Till Kingdom Come http://www.muchmusic.com/tv/specials/coldplay%5Flive/

Chris: "What...what most people don't understand about our band is that although I talk the most and talk the loudest, I'm just one cog in a...in a big machine. If I thought I was a brilliant solo artist, I would go solo. But I'm s***, so... So would Jonny there. Will you go solo?"

Jonny: "I don't think so."

Chris: "Can I come with you..."

Johnny: [laughs]

Chris: "...if you ever do?"

Jonny: "Yeah"

Hey Dejan, didn't you post this thread on the official site?

Don't come here and ruin the fun :P

amen

look at Dave Matthews and Rob Thomas...their solo album sounds like their band's albums, so why go solo?

Make more money. Chris isn't like that though and no one would buy him as a solo artist.

Sure they would buy him as a solo artist.. why not?

that's true...more money makes sense...glad that Chris isn't like that.

Hey, if Dave Matthews and Rob Thomas can be #1 in billboard charts with their solo album, people would buy Chris as a solo artist. Chris is so much more talented than those two.

Sure they would buy him as a solo artist.. why not?

Who? Chris would be nothing will Jon, Guy and Will. He'd just sing about space and the planets!

Ya he would..and people would buy it. They would be interested.

True, although I love him a lot, but I don't think it's a good idea for him to release a solo album, though I'd definitely buy it if he did release one anyway. :/

^ Which I think would be the tendency of many Coldplay fans... this is why it would work. No one is saying this is going to happen thuogh, that he is going to put out an album any time soon, but never say never.

It's not like it would suck horribly...but he shouldn't ditch the guys like that

Take a look @ Sting's career......he had a wonderful career with the police and as a solo artist. Why would have to be a problem for chris martin ? ? ? ?
