Well just saw them last night at PNC and they rocked!! They sounded awesome. Going to see them at MSG on Wed and knowing the sound system in there and plus they have something to prove.. This show is gonna be amazing!!

well to be honest.. I am going to shows expecting to be entertained and they have to impress me. Don't get me wrong.. I love Coldplay.. and when I was given the opportunity to see and hear new material before the album dropped back in May.. I was estatic!! I couldn't stop listening to them for weeks later.. and the performance was amazing!!! I was on a Coldplay high for a month until x&Y dropped. I was a bit dissappointed to be honest... I immediately fell in love with Low and Fix You... (as Fix You live is a stunner!) So lately.. I have been looking forward to seeing them live... to sorta vindicate the album. I hope they play their little asses off and give NY the best show ever!!! :D

yeah, fix you in concert is........i don't know, but I think the term buddhists use is "enlightenment"......it's sick. not to give to much away, but chris waves this orb around and it's amazing...........enjoy the show!!!!!!!!!!

yeah... I saw it at Glastonbury.. and in the video.. lol ;) I just bought an exteneded battery for tomorrows gig.. :) I am sooooooooooooooooo excited!!

omg i cant believe...less than 24 hours... this is my first time ever seeing them live i still dont think its sunk in that im seeing them! i think ive waited so long since the tickets were on sale that now its surreal!

Has anyone ever been to MSG before? Do you know if they have full bodymetal detectors or just wands? The website says hand wands but they might have full body.

 

And I forgot, but do they ever pass metal detector wands over your bag??

they search in your bag. You might not be able to bring a back pack or something.. so try to be as compact as possible. I think they have wands.. not full body... but its been a while since I saw a show there, it may have changed.

Quick question: Does anyone know the setlist for the show? I read in Life magazine that they play for 95 minutes total and I had asked Debs on the coldplay.com website if they were going to be playing lesser-known songs off of "X & Y" a while back, but I haven't heard anything about the setlist yet. Can anyone help me out here?

show opens at 7:30 what time do you think coldplay will actually take stage? I don't want to sit thru the whole opening act but sure as helll don't want to miss a single moment of the band.

when I went to pnc on saturday in holmdel, nj :

6pm - gates opened

730pm - rilo kiley

?815-845 - stage set

9 - coldplay

and they played 'til 11pm - 2 fricken hours of an amazing light show and incredible music - NOW THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT!! :D

I think I'll be there around 8 :30 just so I can marinate in the energy and anticipation thats going to build into a a fucking frenzy while waiting for them to take stage! :D

 

Just hope I don't wet myself waiting for them. LOL.

 

And you damn well be sure there won't be any bathroom breaks!

im grabbing some dinner with my friend and we'll prob get there around 7:00. A friend of mine is a big fan of Rilo Kiley, i promised her id check them out (even though i know some of you here seem to dislike them!).

 

My plan is, on the way in, scope out the closest bathroom to my section, then between Rilo and CP thats my one and only bathroom break!

 

aaaaah 9 1/2 hours left! I have lots of stuff to do today so hopefully that'll kill some time :/

 

oh and here's a question...

 

I assume my Ipod will set off the metal detectors? will my Ipod get screwed up passing through it or am i just being paranoid?

i left my ipod home for the day, cause security might be a hassle and i figured i'll deprive myself of their music just so the live act is that much better!

My iPod is fucked... the hardrive is crashing so no I have to send it out for 2 weeks!!! :bigcry:

 

anyhoo.. I am planning on getting to the city a bit early. I too am meeting my friend for a bite to eat before.. maybe get a few Stellas in... lol

I would DEFINITELY make your one and only bathroom break in between RK and Coldplay. there's a long enough gap in time (at least 45 mins) where even if there was aline, you could hang out in it a while before Coldplay comes on. Have a great time guys....even though I KNOW you all will! :D

Its now 2:15 pm... i have to leave my house at 3:30 to go to a dr appointment at 4:30 and then meet my friend at 5:30 after her classes... i just wanna get out of the house already so time can go faster if im doing something!

 

And ipod or not... wouldnt a cell phone send off the detector anyway? or keys? i mean really, i assume they just wand you and not your bag since they will check it anyway. Otherwise everybody would be going off and it'd be hell to get in.

So what TIME will they take stage???

just got back! my ears are ringng and I'd just about lost my voice.

 

I had section 5 seats and I must admit they weren't as good as I expected. Don;t gte fooled by the floor seat idea - you're facing a level stage with loads of taller peeps ahead of you unles you're 6'7 of course.

 

Put that aside and I must say the concert rocked! it was my first coldplay concert and first MSG concert in years so there's really nothing for me to compare it to.

 

I was however, a little disapponted at the audience energy level, maybe I was expecting the roof to come off.

 

Chris did his lil bit and ran down the aisle for In my Place...and gwennie was seated right in the middle of the floor with a barricade around her.

 

All in all truly splendid experience. Wehn they come back in Jan/Feb..i will try to get better seats.
