For those that have gone to both shows please let me know how the second one differed from the first.....I'm expecting that it was more pwoerful and moving since the boys were able to break the ice last night....

was it the same set ist? was the audience energy better??

Fill us in!! :/

well, i wasn't there for the first night, so i can't make comparisons. the setlist was the same though, except they played don't panic instead of green eyes. when they started playing don't panice, i was the only person in my section that screamed with joy...some people in front snickered, but i dont' care...it's such beautiful song!

Chris said that one of their goal was to have their own wax at madame tuscands in new york, but they won't melt down the backstreet boys! lol

Chris dedicated the scientist to the victims of katrina and said, "some people think it's offensive when we talk about it because we are not americans, but what happens in america affects us all, so to those people, 'fuck them!'"

Chris took back what he said about mariah carey the first night and said something along the lines of " don't listen to me, i'm an idiot..." lol

during in my place, chris went over to guy and sang, "guy please don't go solo" and gave guy a kiss on the cheek. awww!

There were alot of interactions between the guys; you can feel their chemistry and energy..it's so lovely to see.

the concert was a good length...an hour and 45 minutes, but it felt like only ten minutes!

one thing that's upsetting is that my cousin forgot to bring her camera...we had a very good view of the stage, we could have taken some nice photos and shared it with you lovely people.

I have literally just returned from the gig... with more piccies and 2 little videos from tonights show as well... :wink3: I will upload the pics either tomorrow or Friday... depends on what time I get home from work tomorrow night.. but back to to the matter at hand.. the show!!

Pretty much the exact set list as 9/6 except they played Don't Panic instead of Green Eyes. :) (yay!) Chris mentioned his blurb about Mariah and how it was totally foolish of him to joke about that... (referring to the article I assume in NYTimes) and then he made a referrence to the prior nights dedication to the Gulf Coast... I think the article mention something about them no caring.. they don't live in this country.. yadda yadda yadda... and Chris' rebutle.... "Fuck You"... I kid you not!!! He basically told the critics to shove it.. and fuck off... (yeeeeeeeeah!) the place went nuts... yeah, I felt a bit more energy this time compared to the night before... Jonny was bonkers... he was all over the stage... AND so was Guy!! He came over to jam with Jonny by Chris' piano... and I think I got a pic of that too... Overall.. the crowd sang along to everything... I saw Gwynnie! AAAAAAAAAAND... during In My Place.. when Chris ran into the crowd on Tuesday.... he did it again tonight.. and he ran right next to me!!!! I tried to snap him on his way past... but he was quick! Then I tried to snap him on his way back to the stage.. but they turned off all the lights.. it was pitch black and I couldn't distinghuish between him and the security... :embarrased: so my close up went out the window..

I love these guys.. they really are humble and kind, sweet and most of all honest. At least thats the impression I get from them. I can't imagine them every getting bigheaded or forgetting where they came from. Sure they now fly around in a jet.. and stay on fancy shmancy hotels.. but wouldn't you if you were in a fuckin great band and had the money to do so.. lol I say kudos Coldplay.. keep up the good work.. and for this I award them a spot on my cd playlist in my car this week. :P heheh I keeed I keeed.. I wish them all the best.. they are a great and most talented band.

awesome show. 2nd time i saw them this tour. i saw them in the general admission pit at the camden tweeter center, and while that was amazing, i didnt fully experience the light show until tonight (i was in section 231 tonight). it was incredible. i only saw two new song sfrom this show that werent at the camden show (AROBTTH and Ring of Fire), so that was disappointing. i was hoping for some amsterdam or green eyes. i noticed chris was kinda messing the lyrics up in AROBTTH, or maybe he was just improvising, i dunno. other than that it was a solid show. the "in my place" part where he runs to the centermix area and climbs on a speaker there is just so amazing. the ending of clocks is awesome too. the way they speed it up until as fast as they bascially can go is really impressive.

Rilo Kiley (sp?) was actually enteratining. 100x better opener than black mountain. they had some catchy songs it seemed. ill have to look into them a little.

Just got back from my first ever Coldplay concert.

I dont want to make this too emotional...

.. but after a long time in my life I felt sheer joy, euphoria, happiness.. and the 'on top of the world' feeling...inspite of all the shit that I am taking now..

people in my section did not know most of the songs(since they were from x&y and I guess they have not really bought the cd).. I was screaming.. yelling.. and ofcourse singing along to every single line.. I know ppl around me were so pissed off.. I did feel a little bad abt it.. but hey, chris himself mentioned something like.. dont worry abt the person next to you and just sing along.. dont be shy.. and feel confident....

What did Chris do when he went next to Jonny? think said something to him into his ears and Jonny started laughing(actually.. smiling... or even cracking up and hiding his laughter)I think this was during In My Place

Just got back, the train(LIRR) was packed and one girl kept saying "I love Coldplay" during the ride.

Anyways, I was in the section(Sec 11) on the left of where Chris was when he was singing "In my place" in the crowd. Everyone was freaking out. I stood up on my chair to get a better view. The girl next to me did the same thing and lost her balance and dragged both me and her bf down and in the process folding up the foldup chairs. It was hilarious and no one was hurt. But because of that I only managed to get one really good pic of him singing up close, which I will post up tomorrow.

Really good show if not as good as when I saw them in Toronto during the 2003 tour.

I couldn't make out the chitchat the guys were having and didn't see some of the other onstage frolicking 'cause the guy in front of me was 6" tall and kept standing directly in front of me(and he and his gf saw that I was short .) What seats did everyone else have, seems a lot better than mine. Next time in MSG I want loge seats only.

I LOVE COLDPLAY SO MUCH! I WENT TONIGHT AND LAST NIGHT!!!! THIS WAS THE GREATEST SUMMER EVER!!!!!!!

now what I don't get is why they played the same setlist. If you're performing in the same city 2 nights in a row, wouldn't you think to mix it up a bit?

I know The Tragically Hip did when they played back to back shows here in Ottawa a few years ago (this is the last back-to-back concert I remember that took place here)

agreed Kyle!^

I was hoping for a little variety.. at least 2 or three songs diff.. but alas.. I got the same. (well with the switch up) I do remember him messing up the lyrics.. that was totally unintentional... lol did you see how he just looked over at Guy and started laughing... they all looked like they were having a great time... they were all pretty much laughing th entire nite.. OR when he dedicated The Scientist to the greatest man in the world...Jonathan Buckland!! ohh you just otta love Chris!!!

good to know i wasn't on the floor because i'm short and i'm sure some tall guys would stand in front of me. i was in sec. 211 and got a clear view of the stage...much better seats than i expected. i thought i would only see jonny and chris.

only problem with section 200s is that most people are new fans who have only heard x & y. people started sitting down. i thought i would feel self-conscious being the only few people standing, but the guys bring so much energy that it's hard not to give that energy back.

please come back to new york in early 2006!

Well the set list was not really the same for sure...

These were the changes

-Swallowed in the sea instead of Wha If during the Encore

-No Amsterdam but Everything's not Lost instead

-No Green Eyes but Dont Panic instead

So we had three songs from parachutes.. so that makes it more balanced than the other previous ones... :D I never even imagined they would consider playing Everything's not lost.. one of the most under-rated songs

next time they're here they must play SHIVER!!!

they did't play What If on 9/6.... nor Amsterdam... they played ENL on both nights... (Madison Square Garden) Unless you are referring to the Jersey show....

I may have those mp3 for everyone by Friday :wink3: both nights!!

hhmmmm... Yea it was odd that they didn't play What If,...that was the only song they sound checked on 9/6 before they took the stage.

I totally forgot about it until you just mentioned it.

thanks for the pictures and the reviews :)

Yea.. I think I had the NJ show on my notepad as my "compare to" set list :)

Nonetheless, 9/7 was the most balanced show so far

Can anyone tell me what happened during one of the songs in the front of the stage when chris went to Jonny? did he whisper something in his ears or do something to him that made him smirk..? and then he put his arms around chris..

Also... there were some lyrics changed:

-(blah blah blah).. up there...(blah blah blah).. madison square for Politik(I think)

and

also another lyric that rhymed with "hurricane"

I also want to know what he said abt Jonny. Its funny that he changed the lyrics in one part of 'in my place' that went "Guy, please dont go solo" :D

Here is my best picture of the night:

fd4f.jpg?phQ9GIDBkxPJkXVG

That was during "In My Place" when he ran into the crowd and stood on top of a speaker at the technical area. And that was my only good shot before I got dragged down in my previously mentioned incident.

The rest of the photos are at http://photos.yahoo.com/ericawyjim

So what exactly was the set list so I can label my pictures properly.

halokiti the set list is as follows:

Square One

Politik

Yellow

God Put A Smile Upon Your Face

Speed Of Sound

Low

A Rush of Blood to the Head

Everything's Not Lost

White Shadows

The Scientist

Til Kingdom Come

Ring of Fire (Johnny Cash Cover)

Don't Panic

Clocks

Talk

Encore:

Swallowed In The Sea

In My Place

Fix You

thanks. I tried taking pictures during "swallowed in the sea" but they all turned out blurry. It was so beautiful.
