Well' date=' I guess it's better not to talk about this person in this thread anymore. ;) His music is just too bad to mention it here.[/quote']

Verlieben, verloren

Vergessen, verzeih'n

Verdammt war ich glücklich

Verdammt bin ich frei

Ich hatte doch alles, alles was zählt

Aber ohne Dich leben

Jetzt ist es zu säpt

Verlieben, verloren

Vergessen, verzeih'n

Verdammt war ich glücklich

Verdammt bin ich frei

Ich hatte doch alles, alles was zählt

Aber ohne Dich leben

Jetzt ist es zu spät

..

:D

When you're drunk, this can be funny to sing. :D

Never!!

Haha, this song always reminds me of a journey with some of my mates to Mallorca a few years ago! :D We had so much fun in El Arenal. :nice:

Does anyone have the new album of Joy Denalane? It's the first time that she's singing in English instead of German and it's awesome, although I liked the German songs a bit more. Anyway, "Let Go" is one of my favourite songs at the moment. I would call her the German Alicia Keys. :nice:

Hehe, I can only listen to Wolle's song when I'm drunk. ;)

Oh really? Well, I bought it last Saturday at Media Markt. :)

Hehe, I can only listen to Wolle's song when I'm drunk. ;)

I thought he had done all his music ONLY for drunk people, doesn't he? :D

And another german band: Kreator. This band has invented thrash metal, so far as I know. And they're all germans. ;)

Anyway, he has cut his "Freundschaftsbänder" :(

hhaa...yeah I saw this live on TV.....when he announced to Dieter thomas heck that he wants to cut them...or was it Florian Silbereisen?

There are so many great German artists and bands, but the problem is that they're very unknown in Germany as well. It's really a shame... Record companies are only focused on shit like Tokio Hotel, La Fee etc.

A good example... I guess you have listened at least once in your life to a song called "The Great Commandment" by Camouflage. They sound exactly like Depeche Mode, but no one know that it's a song written by a German band.

Last week I heard this song on the radio at work and my work-mate suddenly said: "Depeche Mode... what a great band" and after I told him it's from Camouflage he was shocked. :D

Don't know, but it had to be really pathetic! (I don't saw this *g*)

Yep, they are a lot of great german bands/german songwriters out there. But you can only have a taste to most of them, if you listen to music outside of that terrible mainstream crap in those days. They are a lot of good german local bands, too. And a lot of bands have lots of potential.

@Julia: Yeah, I assume the same.

Mhn, Ska? Don't know. I think for me, it's not that good as a great local alternative rock band. But thank god that musical tastes are different for each other. :>

Indeed! The mainstream crap is just awful! :veryangry:

Yes!

Oh and what about Scorpions? They have written some good songs. Just wanna mention "Wind of Change" from 1990. Although I don't listen to that at this time anymore, I think they are a good example how successful and quite good german musicians can be. ;)

You're right! "Wind Of Change" was an absolute incredible and important song. It was released just one year after the Fall of the Wall in Berlin in 1989 and the lyrics symbolize the liberty, especially for people who lived in East Germany. It was also very successful in the US (number 2) and UK (number 4).

I often ask myself how life would be if the wall would still stand. Two friends of mine grew up in the former German Democratic Republic and I probably would have never had the possibility to meet them. Luckily there was a happy ending. Sometimes I wish that I was born a few years earlier... just to had a chance to celebrate the German reunification (and the World Cup final in 1990 :P).

^ me too.

it's just way too corny.

Anyone heard of a new band called "Fotos"?

I got a recommendation at Amazon, because it should sound similar to "Wir sind Helden".

Laut.de gives 5 of 5 points... :stunned:

I guess I will listen to some of their songs in the near future. ;)

Another topic...

Yesterday I was sitting in a car and my friend had a song on his cd called "Autobiography" by Ashlee Simpson! Suddenly I noticed that I knew the song, but I didn't know why.

Back home I listened to Juli's first album and found their song "Tränenschwer". It has exactly the same melody! I was shocked and searched at Google looking for some answers...

The original is made by a female songwriter coming from New York called Kara DioGuardi. She's writing a lot of songs for Ashlee Simpson, Ricky Martin etc. Juli thought this song is great so they took it, put some other lyrics on it and published it on their own album. So the melody is neither made by Ashlee nor by Juli. ;)

Thanks God, today is national holiday (Germany's reunification in 1990)! I've got a terrible hangover! :dozey:

Well, here's a recommendation of a band I mentioned in my post before...

Fotos - Giganten

I often listen to it on the radio now and MTV is playing this video as well. They will also perform at TRL in Berlin tomorrow. :) I really like this song... "So müssen sich doch die Giganten fühlen"... :nice:

Well if he thought they were Depeche Mode, then he's an idiot.;)

There's only one Depeche Mode.;)
