Theyre coming to pinkpop :)

I don´t listen to German music but there´s one great song that comes into my mind: Die Toten Hosen - Unsterblich. (I´m not a Hosen-fan) At the moment, there is so much rubbish in the German single charts like singing children & mush music. I don´t want to turn on a normal radio station anymore!

:dizzy2: :shifty:

...just got to know "Am Fenster" by City, a band from former East Germany. It´s a fantastic song! (released in the late 70s) :)

I think I never listened to so much German music in my whole life as during the last couple of days.

Anyone ever listened to Pohlmann's "Zurück zu dir" (engl. "back to you")? It's an absolutely wonderful song and the lyrics are so great. I bought this album a few month ago, but I never realized how great this song is. Yesterday I discovered it again when I was sitting with my friends on the beach while watching the sunset. One girl had this song on her i-Pod and I started to listen to it.

Don't know if it's due to the fact that German is my mother tongue, but songs which are written in German are much more important for me. It seems to be more personal, can't really explain it...

I realize more and more that there are a lot of brilliant bands/artists in Germany. You only have to find them, because mostly they don't get much attention by the media.

that's right....I feel the same....but maybe the reason really is that it's our mother tongue...although I think that good german lyrics are much better than good english lyrics...

I agree! :nice:

A few weeks ago I read in a newspaper that the German language has more adjectives and contains more changes to combine different words. Perhaps that's the reason why I confirm your declaration.

Like my favourite word...

Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz

:wacky:

Hey guys.. can anyone tell me what's the name of the band that has a song named "Roque"? and on the video they are like in a store dressed as football players.. I can't remember the band's name. I just remember they were German and the song was Roque hehe I liked that song.

hehe the song is called "Ich Roque" and the band is called Sportfreunde Stiller;)

they qrote this song because of a fottball player who is called Roque Santa Cruz....it's something like a pun because actually "Ich rocke" means "I rock"!

Yeah yeah yeah! That's it! Wow, I'm surprised. I thought no one would know what I was talking about:laugh3: Thanks Julia! I'm going to look for it on you tube :D

oh, they're quite famous over here ;) especially during the fifa world cup, as their songs are mainly about football ^^

Oh I lied. They are not dressed as football players.. well I watched it a long long time ago.. and I only watched it once. I'm surprised I even remember...

Yeah, it's a fun song. I love it haha even though I don't understand what they are saying but I can just imagine bahahahaha

Really Sarah? I can just imagine all the kids jumping around and singing along to this song haha

hehe, yes, and of course they had huge succes with their world cup song, everybody was singing it during that time :nice:

aw, good times *g*

oh that's too hard for me to sing along to:embarassed: but thanks though. I enjoyed it :D

ah, well... those are easy lyrics but german is still such a tough language to learn, so don't worry ;)

btw, those guys are cute ;)

It's probably my favourite Ärzte song ever! These lyrics are so great and no surprise that they were written by Farin Urlaub. No one else create better lyrics than him...

My favourite line is

"Liebe ist nur ein Traum, eine Idee und nicht mehr,

tief im Inneren bleibt jeder einsam und leer"

Perhaps it's true...

coming to think about it - I'd say madsen is still my favourite german band, love them! :nice:
