has anyone else read this book. i had to read it for my gcse's but instead of hating it i found that i really liked this book and it had really powerful messages in the story. although the title sounds like someones ripped off tolkien it is a wicked book and i think everyone should read this.

I read it for GCSE as well. It's one of the best books I've ever read.

really? i thought i saw this movie in school about 4 years ago and it was with colour....ins't this about a plane that crashes on an island and just kids survive? and then it becomes quite violent? or am i confusing movie titles? :huh:

There is another film in colour that came out in the early 90's. It's much better than the shit black and white one, but it's been modernised, it's American, and it's not as true to the book.

yeh i read da book after seeing the black and white movie.

 

i really liked it, i found it disturbing how they could turn on each other makes survivor look like a piece of cake :lol:

 

hope they make a modern version that is close to da book

I just saw the movie, I liked it but was kinda disturbing how the kids ended even killing each other.

ahaha, i saw this movie in Civics and Careers last year. Interesting and it was in color. I really didn't like the brutal stuff tho.

I read this for my english class in highschool. It was one of the only books that I was forced to read that I loved.
