Ticket Troubles

i am sorry if there is another post like this, but here me out

I am so pissed!

I got rejected yesterday on the pre-sale, even though it said order on the site, but when you click it says sold out.

I was up early today to make 110% sure I got the tickets. 9 o clock on the dot I was there, filling out my details on the earls court site. But as soon as I finished about 9:04. A box then came up saying, click ok to order your tickets. So I clicked yes, the joy on my face was amazing. I thought I had them in my grasp. Then the website tells me “your order could not be processed phone this number to check avaiblty” so while trying to get through on the phone, I kept checking the website and they say “order” (again) but when you click it says “sold out” again!

So then I checked see tickets, ticketmaster both sold out! Back to earls court and they are sold out.

So time to turn to the ticket touts, to my surprise I saw ONE standing ticket for £95. that works out about a £1 a minute to see Coldplay live, even though I will probably right at the back where I cant see frig all anyway. The thing that annoys me is that these ticket touts are almost trebling their money £32.50 to £95 is an outrage.

I then went onto a couple of Coldplay message boards to see if anyone had the same problem. Only to find so called “fans” to have bought maximum quotas of tickets just to sell them on to make a profit, with a little smile face next to their message. If I remember rightly, these people where going mad a few months ago when members downloaded the album. Saying it was being “disloyal to Coldplay”. Yeah, I downloaded the album, but then I also bought it when released.

It seems as if all (well not all, but some, I apologise to the innocent here) Coldplay fans have become homemade ticket touts. Denying real Coldplay fans the chance to see them live at a great venue.

This was going to be my 16th birthday present as my birthday is on the 10th of December. Sweet 16 on the 16th of December was not meant to be.

Sorry for the long post, but I would love to hear your views. cheers

I agree. Ticketmaster is absolutely useless. Did they handle the U2 pre-sale?

I can't remember now, but it was impossible to even get on the website - it was completely jammed.

If members are selling tickets for a profit, then it's rank out of order in my opinion. They should know better.

I got lucky for Coldplay because there was a tip-off about the extra pre-sale (see other thread) and I happened to be online at the time.

Otherwise I probably would have been in the same situation as you, Laurie.

If I had had more cash to spare or my credit card situation wasn't so complicated I would have had no hesitation in taking my full allocation and then selling them at face-value.

But I wouldn't throw in the towel yet, if I were you, as there already seem to be a few floating around on here.

Maybe there'll be more to come. I've noticed a number of tickets have become available on here for the U.S. shows, so maybe the same will happen with the U.K.

In future perhaps a few like-minded members could get together and come up with a joint strategy for getting enough tickets for everyone, so that if one person fails there's still a chance with somebody else.................................

Well i'm new to all this but if your prepared to pay a extra may i suggest you try the getmeticket.net website as i have just purchased a seating ticket for £77 which is more than i wanted to pay but i've never seen this band play live so wasn't going to waste my chance and i totally agree about the ticketmaster website being absolutely rubbish.Good luck in your search.

Well i'm goin so don't give a toss what most of you think :) youv'e more chance of winning the lottery than gettin a ticket for £30 :)

thats bollocks, earls court shows ALWAYS release extra tickets, even U2 in 2000, and madonna last year released extra tickets randomally from time to time.

if that fails, touts who bought to sell on ebay, will have too many to shift come the week of the gig, so theres a good chance you'll be able to pick up a few off there face value.

i got two tickets to see beck a week before the show, for 99p, they were £30 each when they went on sale.
