I know that I am not that great of a fan yet I suppose and it's probably on this site or some other site around that i have looked at, but i dont get THAT much internet time.. So can anybody tell me,

 

How did Coldplay get their name?

okay, now i'm a new fan too so my information could be wrong. but in the Q magazine with Chris on the cover they mentioned how they had adopted the name "The Coldplay" from another college band who decided not to use it anymore. then when they got signed i think they decided to just drop the "the".

 

:shrug: i dunno though, that's all i remember. they had a name previous to that but i forget

yep.. took it from a friend's band who abandoned the name. I believe coldplay used to be named starfish? something like that.. i cant remember.

I guess that says it all :)

OH OH OH OH MAN! COLDPLAY IS #2 on VH1's Countdown! THAT IS SOOOO GOOD!!!! Now all they need to do is get on TRL and hey, maybe America will show some love.

i used to think carson daly was the biggest idiot in the world until i watched his late night show and realized that he's actually pretty cool and he probably just signed a 400 year contract with mtv or something. :shrug: he says himself "if i saw myself on the street i'd probably punch myself in the face too"
