I need some advice.

I will be playing a Coldplay song on the piano along with a singer for my school's variety show. Which one would get a better reaction-Fix You or Speed of Sound?

I think Fix You would be a great show piece, especially if you both sang at the same time :-D. Speed of Sound would probably receive more "Ooooo I know that one!"

Speed of Sound will sound heaps better on solo piano.

If you have an electric piano and you can get the organ sound, Fix You would be a better duet. However... Speed of Sound will sound better on a regular ol' piano.

Why don't you do some earlier stuff instead? Clocks would be BEAUTIFUL... or Life is For Living! OH! OH! DO LIFE IS FOR LIVING!

Thanks for the advice guys but I already made up my mind. People have convinced me to do Fix You!

XD

If you can actually do the Fix You organ right, and layer it with the Piano, go ahead, but it would be complete suicide to do it without the right notes. I myself would go for SoS, but whatever.
