Who's going to come out of nowhere and make a name for themselves?

 

I think the U.S. is going to definitely make a statement. But I suppose they're not that much of a surprise team, just underrated.

 

My guess would be Switzerland. How the Swiss made it out of that qualifying group is beyond my fathoming...this team must be pretty darn good. Ireland's always been good, and Israel even looked tough this year, but the Swiss squeaked out of there and then took out Turkey...anyways, that's my pick, what are yours?

Mexico's always solid...but they always have trouble winning away from home! :P

 

I mean, it helps that you have 100,000 fans at a venue way above sea level !(Estadio Azteca)

Poland! Because they have Magic and Arthur...Celtic fans will know what I am on about! :P

 

Other than that I would love to see Trinidad go far.

^ I agree, Ivory Coast have a decent team with the likes of kolo Toure, although they do have Drogba....... :rolleyes:

 

I also think Spain will do well, they're a surprise team because they normally do so badly.

Poland Costa Rica and Ecuador are very good underrated teams. They all have potential of surprising the hell out of eveyone

I would have said Ivory Coast but I can't see Holland or Argentina slipping up in the group stages.

 

For some reason I'm fancing Poland to do well and hoping Trinaid & Tobago can get a few results in their games

to be honest i'm not sure i can see there being many surprises .... perhaps whoever comes out of Spain's group, probably with Spain will do well :/ (Ukraine, Tunisia or Saudi Arabia) ... i don't think the USA will get through their group with Portugal & Mexico there but they have a chance ... maybe if Japan get through their group they could do well ...
