The stats prove that Coldplay are an albums band and most of the buying public already own the X&Y CD. It's only the die-hard fans like those on this board who want to own everything released by the band and will buy the single. The rest are just happy with the album.

I'm sure they will be shifting a few copies of X&Y as Christmas presents.

Coldplay's new single 'Talk' will be Christmas number 1 in at least one country, with the announcement that it has reached top spot in the Netherlands.

 

This means 'Talk' is Coldplay's biggest hit in the Netherlands to date, beating off the success of 'Clocks' (#2 in 2003). The top 10 is as follows:
