Lying by omission...

Featured Replies

Do you guys think that lying by not saying anything is as bad as actually lying to someone's face? If you think you have a good reason for not telling someone something, does that make a difference? Any thoughts??

Depends on the situation but genereally speaking I think no, it's not as bad.

If it's something like cheating on your sig other, then i think it's wrong, but for other more minor offenses....I am thinking that it isn't as bad. Especially if you are trying to keep someone from getting hurt.

it really depends on the situation ...

what if you saw your best friend's boyfriend making out with another chick ... what wpuld you do? well, i guess i'd tell the truth

but what if you just wanna protect a person somehow. then it's okay to lie i guess.

I guess it also depends on how close you are with the person you are "lying" to.

I always want that people tell me the true no matter what!

And I always ask my friends, what do I have to do if I face a situation like Grace describes above!

If my friends told me that he dont want to know if his girlfriends are cheatting at him,I dont tell the guy!

If my friends told me that he dont want to know if his girlfriends are cheatting at him,I dont tell the guy!

How could someone actually say that?! Thats insane!

If my girlfriend was cheating on me, of course I'd want to know! Its eventually going to come out anyway.

I wouldn't want to get caught in the middle sometimes because I have had people take stuff out on me when I had nothing to do with it. "Don't kill the messenger!!!" :D

Hey I ask the guy first for a opinion!

If he dont want to know it,is his problem!

Thats why I always ask first

You are a good man, Alfredo....

I wouldn't hang around with a guy who's as nuts as that.

I prefer the truth always!

Some people cant face the truth. AND THAT IS A FACT

I will like that everyone who know me speaks with the truth!

Its quite pathetic if your friend didnt want to know if his girl is cheating on him or not. Its like hes just going to hold onto her for dear life, no-matter how much of a cheating hoe she is.

There's honesty for ya ;)

I understand your pont Reilly,if my friend dont want to know, thats so sad an I think is stupid!

But think the other way, sometimes your friend could be totally in love with a slut, but sometimes your friend dont want to believe you, when you say that his girlfriend is a slut and that she is cheatting on him!

Yeah I gotchya, if your friend doesnt want to know, thats his problem ;)

Still, its crazy!

I prefer the truth always!

That is so true!

However, if everyone would be completely honest in this world, then a lot of people would be hurt. I think a little white lie is ok if it leads to people not being hurt.

Yeah,I always want to help my friends,ALWAYS!

But you know that are some people that dont want any help at all!

Hurt is not that bad!

If you know why your friend are telling you the truth it will not hurt that much!

If your friends loves you they will heal you after a sad or bad new
