4th Album

Featured Replies

i think the 4th album will be a BIG BOOM. i mean something very unexpected, something very strange maybe, but very very good and maybe as Chris said the best ever done...first of all, they need an improvement of lyrics. x&y was the weakest of the 3 lyrically. Chris should stop to write songs for Gwyn, because they're a bit boring  and another Fix You would be a total crap. one is enough. second, i think Chris shouldn't leave the piano. that would be a big mistake. Coldplay became big, thanks to piano (in the big part), so leaving the piano would mean to change their style completely :uhoh2: that wooooould be disappointing

i'm expecting a harder, deeper, more mature album with some 'old style' (parachutes-arobtth era) songs

Wouldnt it be awesome if the whole cd was mainly the piano? Like 12 songs of piano driven songs like trouble and clocks. That would be awesome. Have the piano in every song, and make it the center of the song, unlike a lot of X&Y where the guitars mostly drowned out the piano.

4 th album....still 2 years to wait, and i i'm afraid i'll be too disapointed

i cant wait for the next album.. i know they need a break but i dont know if i can wait 2-3 years!!

i think they totali folow U2' date=' because they also made a change after 3 albums....[/quote']

I agree completely, and if so change isnt completely a bad thing. The first album following U2's 'change' was "Achtung Baby" and its considered one of the greatest U2 albums beside 'War and The Joshua Tree' so in saying that i can't help but feel optmistic and excited for this 'new change' that coldplay will have!

anways that was my two cents, take care everyone! :)

I don't think we should fear a "radical" change. These are the same musicians with the same talents and abilities. Chris' voice won't morph into that of Jay Z and Guy and Jonny's string arrangements won't shift into hillbilly tunes. Their influences on the album will be different as they should be. If they kept remaking the same album over it may be alright with us fans since we love that same ole album so much but it may get musically unsatisfying for the group which would in all likelyhood cause them to to take a downturn in the quality of their music. It's when these guys are inspired that they make good music and I think we're seeing those signs for this upcoming 4th album.
