Hello Coldplay Fans Around the Globe

 

I Finally I got my Coldplay Cd's "Parachutes" and "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" in the mail today. I already have the new cd "x and y". Believe it or not I never listened to the first two albums Coldplay recorded. I remeber the "Yellow" video (awesome video) when it was first aired on TV and it stuck in my head, but I never bought the Cd. Now that I have tickets to go see Coldplay in concert I got really pumped to buy the other two albums to get myslef plugged in before the show.

 

I keep reading where you folks express your opinions on which song is coldplays best and the only songs I know is "Yellow" and all the songs on the x and y album........ so when my wife comes home from work tonight I plan to turn on the black light, light some incense, relax and listen to the albums to get caught up on lost time. Cool beans............

good for you... give them time.. at least paracutes, it will definately grow on you.

X and Y is defitenly IMHO the better of the three albums. I really love "warning sign". Clocks is good but "Yellow" is still Coldplays signature song that put them on the map. The x and y album I have really liked from the first time I listened to it.

 

Petter, you are correct. "Parchutes" and "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" are good but they will have to grow on me

it all depends on preference really... if you prefer a "pop" sound, then X&Y def. delivers. If you are into a more alternative sound, then the first two albums will suit you better.

if you got x n y first, the only way is up, have fun!

Yeah if X&Y was the album that got you hooked on Coldplay than I can see why the other too will take some getting used to. But don't worry. Soon you'll be fanatics like the rest of us...you'll know every word to every B-side and nearly crash your car when you're wife calls you to tell you they finally posted "that deodorant song".....

I wouldn't classify x and y as Pop music. x and y is in a class of it's own. I really wouldn't know how to class it but not Pop. Pop music to me is like Michael Jackson but of course with a difference of 25 years between our age I can see how the term Pop music can have a different meanning in todays music world. Maybe I'm to old for this forum but hey, I'll always like coldplay. LOL

yep. I think that their music is kinda brit _pop

I definitelly wouldn't classify Coldplay as any kind of just plain pop. Maybe pop-rock...er...more like rock-pop. Light-pop-rock? Lite-brit-pop-alt-rock.

Would Three Doors Down or MY Chemical Romance be classified as Pop Rock or just Rock?

 

These days what bands would be classified as Pop, Alt Rock or Rock?

 

Are Rap video's on MTV classified as Pop?...., but classisified as Rap when you go to the music store to buy a Wll Smith album.

 

My Pop is a old man about 75yrs old. Now I want some Pop Corn.

Music is getting harder and harder to classify these days, what with all the newer groups that create a unique style by meshing and bridging other styles. (Linkin Park, The Killers come to mind.) Genre classification isn't really applying anymore. There's almost as many genre's are there are bands. :P

:lol: how great my Coldplay is!!! People at every age do like their songs and I'm very joyful to hear that you like them too. My dad agreed

that "yellow " is an awesome song, and I wonder why you didn't buy their cd after seeing it on TV. But I'm sure you'll enjoy those two albums

I asked myself the same question after I bought the coldplay concert tickets for the Feb 25th show. "Why didn't I ever buy Parachutes"? Don't know.
