About Iran's nuclear program: A vision to the Middle East

Featured Replies

It has been in the news from a long time now, what do you think about it?

Well I'm pretty upset with the attitude of countries like the U.S. ,Great Britain and Israel about denouncing Iran to the Atomic Energy Agency and contemplating economic sanctions and even an invasion if its necessary!! (the invasion idea in words of American and Israeli defence ministers) I think a lot of diplomacy and discussion is needed, obviously Iran and every single country has the right to advance and develop atomic energy, but then the European Union, the United States and Israel are afraid Iran can make a nuclear bomb something totally comprehensible for having a neighbor destroyed and invaded like Irak... Iran just would like to feel less vulnerable with that situation. However, how come that reciently the president of America George Bush was visiting the India and Pakistán for nuclear agreements? and what about the well known Israeli nuclear program? is it that only some countries want to keep the monopoly of knowledge technology and nuclear power only for themselves?

I always laugh when I get to see in the news Israel hypocrite authorities complaining and asking the international comunity to do something against Iran's nuclear program or Hamas in the Palestinian goverment, (which was democratically chosen by the people) and seems just EVERY SINGLE COUNTRY is afraid of their security. In fact there's a lot of tension in the middle east, I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes into a really big war... is there any less pessimistic thought about it?

it really bothers me that the US always feels they need to 'run' things... I hate that. Damn politics..

Is a power game, it has always been the same game in history. They need to get into everything and play as the world's police to keep their power above others, to keep others poor and ignorant! But certainly history has teached us other important thing: The empires are not for ever!

I mean, I'm afraid we're very near to other world war. :\

Its not just a power game, its called not having your greatest enemy who supports terrorism and would be more then willing to use or sell them. Iran with nukes is a threat to the world as a whole, a major threat. its far more then politics its national security and common sense. but yet modern day liberals dont seem to give a shit if a truly evil terrorist nation has these weapons, guess you will once there used on a country in europe or the US.

Well depends on what you understand by terrorism, besides shattering airplains against towers or making trains and buses to explode I also call terrorsim to invade a country illegally, to toture prisoners and doing things like bombing an innocent Pakistani village only because there are rumours one terrorist is there. So for me U.S. goverment is terrorist, maybe not for you... So you see how ambiguous that word can be.

Yeah, but Iran with nukes is a threat to the free world and millions of people, our nation along with the EU has a right and not only that but the Duty to step in and prevent such an event from occuring. when a nation that evil is coming close to making wmd's we would be foolish not act. it would be just as bad as if hitler getting a nuke in ww2.

Yes, I know that's what the western wolrd is afraid of and maybe Teheran can support what you call terrorists but have you ever wondered why terrorist act like that? just because they like it? I think there's much lack of comunication between both sides.

Maybe Iran is also afraid so they want to get armed, do you blame them for that? As the powerful contries have that technology, other countries have that right, right to progress and also become powerful... is the fight for the power, we all should be afraid. :(

botton line, Iran with nukes would be a major danger to the entire world, thats why much of the world is tryingto stop this.

Hah, sure... obviously the biggest problem has always been the United States, getting its nose everywhere judging, invading... trying to control world's policy, and I don't blame them for that. As I said is the power game, that's what the Empires always do.

Actually my point is not to judge countries for their actions cause it is simply product of human nature. Obviously the power game is destructive and until we as humanity realise that our system is so wrong we will still kill ourselves and destroying everything around us. But is something very utopic, I don't know... maybe world's destruction is unavoidable. Yes I'm so pessimistic but it's true. As Einstein said once we shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if humanity is to survive. :(

its not even close to the biggest problem in this world. and saying show shows how ignorant once can be. and p.s. we arent an empire, we dont have an actual empire. the biggest threat are nation like iran that are trying to get nukes. if anything the US is protecting the world, going after countries like iran and iraq that support terrorism and try to get wmd's. were a biggest threat to the non free world. like china and iran but most other countries we are friends to.

well said... I agree. Not so much that the US is a terrorist nation.. but the fact that the world can be ambiguous.

thats why there can neverbe world peace. Its all interpeted in so many different ways... whats considered terrorism to some.. is patriotism to another. I don't know why we all can't just live harmoniously, minding each others business...

Uh, no I didn't say the States are a terrorist nation, that would make me stupid, I just said the GOVERMENT and its politics can be classificated as such. :blank:

And yeah, everything is relative I believe, there's no thing such an universal truth.

^ ahhhh still... I wise statement.... I agree.

i agree ... and the problem is ... America is the country that wants to put sanctions already. I think its a bit too soon for it.

and ... i'm not saying this to defend Iran but why is the mentality of the world like this: America + nukes .. ok Russia + nukes .. ok France, India, China, ... + nukes .. all ok but why not another country ? i think that any country with nukes is a danger to world peace, there's only need for one extremely agressive leader in one of the nuke having country's and WW III started.
