Ripping MTV Overdrive videos?

Sweet, thanks for the thread and the heads up about the protection :)

Sorry to randomly post here as a totally new person, but I noticed this thread through trawling the web and just wanted to ask something - is there any way I can get past MTV Overdrive's region lock so I can access their plethora of music videos that don't exist in the UK version? Would anonymous proxies work or anything?

Thanks.

^If you use a proxy server which is say based in America, giving you an american based IP address than it will fool the region locks.^

Can you recommend a better proxy service than Proxify then? I've got an account with that but I can't seem to get the MTV.com site to co-operate properly through it. It displays the pages in plain text with clickable links with "disable all scripts" turned on but because of that I don't get the pop-up window to play the video with. Then if I try browsing the page with "disable all scripts" switched off then I get the top and bottom adverts but nothing in between them.

It's annoying me muchly I tell you. MTV.com used to allow you to view all videos in a plain window, accessible to everyone in the world. Then they force this Overdrive stuff down your throat, and even then it's denied to everyone but the Yanks. MTV UK has its own equivalent but they don't appear to have any music videos available at all. :(
