Anyone heard of this guy? I saw something about him on TV and from what I heard, his music sounded very good. I am thinking of buying his CD.

Matt is a great musician. He tours alot with Jack Johnson. I've always liked him alot and I'm hoping you guys give him a try.

You can listen to a couple of his mp3's there. Cold December is a great song, and Lullaby is with Jack Johnson and is also good.

 

EDIT: I just realized the purevolume version of Lullaby...well..stinks. I suggest downloading it if you like Jack Johnson because he's in most of the ones I've seen downloadable.

Yeah, I've heard Cold December and it is really good, but I haven't heard any others yet. I am thinking of buying his CD; it seems like music I would like. :)

I listened to a song of his yesterday, he is really good. I hate Jack Johnson though, just because everyone else loves him.

I like his Cold December song and had a listen to his album and I gave him a chance but I just simply did not liked the rest of his songs except Cold December & btw he is hot!

I listened to the cd on the weekend, not too bad.

so yeah i actually gave him a real listen after the guster concert. and hes great! im gonng see him again in may :D

 

howeverrrr i bought this CD at the guster concert.. and THERE WAS NO CD IN IT!!! :( i wrote a message to his website.. i wonder if anythign will actually happen..

I was really surprised to see this thread - while browsing the forum, I was (and still am) listening to Matt Costa's album "Songs We Sing". Its a great album all around. Folky, acoustic, and poppy from track to track.

Matt has been getting really big recently. A lot of it is thanks to Jack Johnson, who has taken him on tour through the US, major American Festivals, and Europe. Also, being featured on Jack Johson's DVD "Weekend at the Greek" was a big break for Matt. That's how I first found out about him and I encourage you all to check out the featurette on him. It has a little interview, and a performance of Sunshine with Jack, as well as a solo acoustic performance of Astair.

 

You should also check out the AOL sessions video of Matt and Jack playing "Lullaby Song" - its quite nice.

 

I was equally surprised to be walking through HMV today, and to see that Matt was listed as one of their "featured artists". I'm really glad he's getting exposed, and am sure that he'll blow-up just as JJ did under Ben Harper's wing.

 

I'm also going to be seeing him soon too! He's making two stops in Toronto this summer. Playing with "The 88" in May, and he's coming back in July. I'm going to the July show, and I'll let all fans on this forum know how it was!

im going to see him in may AND july. its gonna be awesome :) i also found out about him thru jack johnson's DVD. and then i finially saw him live at a guster concert.. and then it also turned out he was playing at Coachella - to which i was alredy going to .. its like a matt costa overload

 

i particularly enjoy astair, cold december, sunshine, ballad of miss kate, sweet rose, behind the moon, oh dear, yellow taxi - and i almost basically named the whole CD. haha!

matt's nyc show was SUPERRR. and i took a pic with him & got his autograph.. hes so super nice :D (and tall.. he had to crouch down to take a pic wiht me.. granted im short too.. but still)
